Eva from Thirdway Industries
Hello guys, a new little project (just one experimental deck), I just teased my newsletter subscribers and I decided to post here as well.
Minisite > http://www.thirdway.it/eva/eva.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Eva King of Hearts
Finally, I designed Pandora
It's based on SINS, like Panheon/Dedalo relation, but it's a completely new project (new box, aces, tuck, courts, back).
Hope you'll like it!

Re: Eva - Soon from Thirdway Industries
An all female deck then? Given that your Queen illustrations are easily my favorite out there, a deck with 3x as many sounds amazing to me!

Re: Eva - Soon from Thirdway Industries
@JuFiN - Yes, full female deck! At least 14 different illustrations of women
@Rich - nothing too risque, it will be an elegant deck - but for the first time, I wanted to cross the line and show more than I usually do Especially on the Q
I was asked many times to do that by some of my best supporters (one in particular, lol), but I was always a bit scared - even if I like strong themes, I don't want offend anyone.
I decided to give it a try when also a girl asked me to that!

I'm sure it'll be tasteful. And you have at least one female backer supporting you, I'm sure relieving your fears of offending backers.Thirdway Industries wrote:I was asked many times to do that by some of my best supporters (one in particular, lol), but I was always a bit scared - even if I like strong themes, I don't want offend anyone.

I wish the intricate extra lines and design elements were lessened though. Yes it makes for a much more detailed card with hidden/meaningful secrets but the courts are getting lost in all the extra bits. Soon we'll just have eyes and cleavage showing. You can see your progression of elements if you start at Omnia 1 then Omnia 2 up to current SINS. I'd hate to lose all exposed arms, torsos, faces, etc. all together just for the sake of adding extra, more detailed and interweaving stuff. Less can be more is what I'm saying. Just my opinion, I'll still be backing it.
Move on, nothing to see here.

Thank you Rich - Yes, I understand you point of view My first decks were more minimal, but I fell in love with the most intricate designs and pushed that point as much as possible hehe.RichK wrote:I'm sure it'll be tasteful. Anyway, not all the cards will be "covered", faces and torsoes will be visible. Thank you for the feedback!

Can't wait to see what you've come up with! Reading through some of the commentary... and thinking. A risque deck with men would be very tricky.... I wonder what the them would be then? Anyway, excited for yet another one of your decks. Can't wait to back this one.

Re: Eva - Soon from Thirdway Industries
@intlgrrl - hehe I'm not the right guy to make a risque deck with men
There will be a couple of male figures in Eva, but they'll be covered Can't reveal more hehe
Our friends at Kardify just published a great article > http://www.kardify.com/2017/05/news-thi ... veals.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Tuckbox revealed
Probably I'll use letterpress technology on this one.

Re: Eva - Soon from Thirdway Industries
it's quite sad to see you guys drool over some "naked ladies" in the manner you do. these decks are sexist already and men, behaving like you do, are just disgusting. everyone complains about fontaines for being always the same, well these are basically the same courts as well, but your boners seem to take all the blood from your brain to realize that. this forum and most the people I encountered in the playing cards collecting scene are just as unpleasent as it usually is with men and their hobbies or sports.
and don't even bother. I had countless discussions before. the usual response is to call me out as uptight or go somewhere else if you don't like. and yes, this is what I am doing, but I hope that some situation will make you stop and think about objectifying or ridiculing women or non-male people and maybe reconsider your chauvinistic approach to all things. it is not the oppressed that have to explain to the oppressor what their wrong doing is, but that's pretty much always what is happening.
for any of you, who are interested in learning something to be a decent human being, I urge you to read some feminist literature. bell hooks is a great start.
I hope you don't rool your eyes immediately, but take that critisicm serious. for the world is the shit place it is due to patriarchy. and if you do not agree, you're in denial.

Re: Eva - Soon from Thirdway Industries
Hello Ursula,
I understand and respect your point of view, and I'm sorry if you're offended in any way because my work. It's not my intention at all.
as I said above, Eva is more than a "deck with naked ladies" - My main goal is tell a story, and the specific story I will tell is about the four first women - I think it may be an interesting theme both for men and women. The "risque" is a just part of the theme/lore, and it's not the main part - It's just one feature of the deck, only on some cards and I tried to do it in the most elegant and serious way possible.
Hope it helps! Thank you for your feedback,
Giovanni

Ursula welcome to the forums. Opinions from everyone are always welcome. I personally do not agree with a single word you wrote but the beauty of free speech is being able to express one self even in an ultra cringe feminist way. Also if you dont like the deck dont buy it...
It will sell very well I am sure and personally boobs or no boobs I would buy it. Dont be ashame of the naked female body. As a woman you should embrace it
You have a wonderful day

Not discounting Ursula's perspective, for what it's worth Gio, as a woman I am not offended by this deck. I'll be pledging for it.
