Other hobbies?

Hi guys

Just wondering what other hobbies you all have aside from cardistry/ general magic.

For example I play a lot of video games and read like it's going out of fashion.
I also have a pretty big interest in strange old padlocks with odd opening mechanisms.

Faithfully yours

Manny Calavera

I like gaming and reading too - though finding less time for either these days.

I swim a lot (but I also eat pizza a lot - so you wouldn't be able to tell haha!).

I have a casino chip collection that I go back to every now and again too...

FYI - for other collections people have, there is this older thread: viewtopic.php?f=58&t=6647

As for other hobbies outside of collecting, for me it would be mountain biking, sand volleyball, brewing beer / brewery trips / trying new beer, board games, kart/auto racing, camping, music/concerts (rock/metal), house DIY, playing with new tech (hardware, software, tinkering, development).

I used to play a lot of video games on the xbox 360, but these days been too busy and just occasionally will bring that back out or more likely play pc/steam games.

My other hobbies other than playing card games and designing playing cards, are painting and performing and inventing magic tricks. I do painting with digital and traditional media. Here are two paintings that I made with digital painting software.

Interesting about the padlocks. My cousin used to locksmith and I loved seeing the inner workings of locks.

Have you seen the puzzle padlocks Grand Illusions sometimes has? They are usually made in limited numbers and I don't think they have any at the moment, but there must be other sources. Are the old ones like puzzles, where you have to figure out how to get to the keyhole?

I'm a casual gamer - read a lot more. Mostly sci fi and non-fiction.

Do some odd knitting which I was turned onto by an artist I know. He makes most of his pieces through crochet or knit.

Collect music. Mostly old and new experimental electronica, jazz (usually not vocal), garage, punk, alternative... and go out dancing as often as I can.

I believe I know the locks you're referring to. They're absolutely incredible.

I'd love to take up dancing but social anxiety is a horrible dance partner paha.

I did try knitting when I was younger and found it incredibly relaxing (same reason I do cardistry) I may start taking it up again. Thanks for the reminder =)

I dabble a little with coins, but not the usual, I suppose. Complete proof presidential dollar set just completed and I have many of the 1oz Silver Eagle proofs, many half dollar and dollar commemorative proofs as well.

I have a much lesser obsession collecting movie posters (usually newer screen prints from places like Mondo). I also briefly tried collecting movie steelbooks, but that business is severely flawed, so I'm very casual about it.

Non collection hobbies for me include playing/watching ice hockey, and shooting guns at the range.

Gaming for me too, a bit too much for my age, mainly PC over the years. Didn't help that my girlfriend got me a 3DS for Christmas, after I casually mentioned I wouldn't mind having one, making it my first handheld gaming device since the Game Boy Advance I had when I was 12 (I'm 28 now). I instantly turned back into a Nintendo fanboy and have already bought way too many second hand games for it off of ebay.

Currently I'm also doing an online course in xml coding for Android, would be nice to be able to make my own apps at some point.

Too many expensive hobbies here. Gaming, comics, watching the NY Rangers during winter & Chicago Cubs during summer, collecting & shooting firearms & woodworking.
