No the star is fine and goes with the stars in the first deck, no need to change it now.

awesome again ! goes well in line with the previous deck, wish it had thin borders so that fanning is a little more interesting tho.
Can i suggest using just more than red and black paper clippings to the next deck? It might add more dimension to the cards imo, especially since its a circus themed deck, and well circuses are meant to be colourful and flamboyant

Happy New Year to you all, and thank you!
I do plan to have a consistent style when it comes to colors, pips, indices. Ultimately, the decks will be part of a series, and I'd like to have a sense of cohesion despite the different themes. Sticking to a color scheme of black, white, and red seems limiting, but I love the challenge of it

I received my Curator deck yesterday and WOW! The screen does not do these cards justice. I regret not being able to snag an uncut before they sold out, but I am on the hunt now.
I have several decks that are very artistic and eye appealing but the Curator makes them all look lazy. I am both a collector and magician and the possibilities with this deck are endless. An entire routine could be made with this deck alone and tell a story as well.
Emmanuel has my full backing and support with the Curator and any future deck he creates. People take note! This is evolution!!

I really like the neat design!
Reminds me somewhat of the Sultan Republic deck (the backs)

Emmanuel brings a unique talent to the world of cards and I am always stunned by his creativity. I design things too, but the way his mind works is just in another realm. For purely selfish reasons I was glad to give him a little nudge to help the Curator move along, because I wanted that deck so bad and wanted to see more!
I have got to get to the store to get nice frames so I can add the Curator uncut to my gallery, it's just a joy to look at.

If anyone lives in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area, I'm having a Clipped Wings art show this May at the Busy Bee restaurant in downtown Raleigh. I would love to hear from you if you live in the area or are visiting in May!
Below are the one-sheet art prints that I'm planning to hang up for the art show. Dates are still being worked out for the release of the deck, but it's coming

Is it likely to be roughly the same time as last year for the Curator?

Hey Everyone,
I have to backtrack a bit since I don't have a release date yet for the Clipped Wings deck, but I recently set up an art show for the deck at Bridgewater State University (about 25 miles south of Boston, MA).
There are 60 works on display, and they are on the second and third floors of the main campus library.
If anyone lives in the area or in Massachusetts, please come check out the show! These are the actual papercut cards, and the exhibition will be up until January 9, 2014.
I'm also planning to give an artist's talk/tour of the show in November (date TBD), and I would love to meet any forum members who live in the area.
Here's some more information about the show:

Second floor:
Third floor:
In conjuction with the show, the curator of the art department set up a case of modern playing cards.
The decks from left to right are:
Bicycle Silver & White Rider Back (Cartes A Jouer)
Ornate
52 Aces
P22 Type Foundry: Playing Card Deck 2008
Ultimate Deck

Looks great Emmanuel!
I can imagine many students being distracted from their studies and scour both floors to see all of the framed Cards up close. You may personally be responsible for a dip in test scores at Bridgewater!
I was surprised to see the Ornates in the last photo. I'm honored to be in a display of modern Decks!
Thanks, Randy

Outstanding! Congratulations on the show, that's just awesome. The pieces look great up on the wall and I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say that we can't wait to be able to own our own copies in miniature. Wouldn't mind owning some original size ones even.

This is a good point. Are you selling the originals?

Thank you everyone! Randy, the Ornate deck looks great in the case
The curator handpicked the decks from his own personal collection to display.
Strag, at this time, I'm not selling the originals. I can't imagine breaking up a deck.

Wow, that is a really neat show. If I were anywhere in the area it would be a lot of fun to take a look. Since I'm not I'll just have to continue patiently waiting for the deck to be printed. And as cool as it would be to own an original, I completely understand about not wanting to break the deck up. Poster size prints would be a nice option though. Definitely looking forward to the release of this and Sawdust. Keep up the great work Emmanuel!

Shame, although I do understand your position. I gave a copy of Curator to my landlord and he's absolutely in love with it and wants to know when your next deck(s) are coming out. In the meantime, he's planning on framing some of the cards from Curator because, as he says, they are just "too beautiful to play with and should be hanging on a wall". I'll probably try to grab him an uncut of Clipper Wings if/when they are available. Only sad I never got one of Curator.
