"De'vo has produced over 30 decks of playing cards by collaborating with talented artists. He has always wanted to do his very own complete original artwork and this project has been in the works for over 2 years! De'vo closed his on-line store and other projects to solely focus on being an artist. De'vo is creating an entire deck using 3D computer generated graphics/environments! Every single card is designed and created using mostly 3D spheres and cubes, sculpted to create the artwork. The amount of detail put into each and every card is unbelievable and extremely time consuming creating a deck using all dimensions! Unlike other decks that have just used 3D just for concept, or for compositing with photoshop/illustrator, De'vo is rendering out the 3D artwork directly from his programs. This will be De'vo's very first project as an "artist" and he decided to release it on Kickstarter in March. This will not be available from us directly any other way. There will be two versions of Chrome Kings. A "Classic" (possible Bicycle) version which is shown in the All Clubs photo for collectors, poker players, magicians and so on. It's a very clean but detailed design. There will also be an "Artist Premier" edition that will fully utilize the 3D space and be extremely artistic in nature by using special lighting and environments. Both version will be printed by the USPC. The Artist Premier deck could possibly have special properties such as a foil tuck case among other items. There will also be a battle pack that will contain a special coin and possible other items that will turn either deck into a game deck. More to come on the "Battle Packs" in the future. This amazing new deck of cards straight from the mind and talent of De'vo is coming soon, Kickstarter in March with release in May/June.

Maybe this is just me since I never really liked 3D art like this, but... I can't find a single thing about this that I like. Not one element, down to the font used. Will be interesting to see the back design though.
I'd say "Don't quit your day job", but I guess it's a bit too late for that
I have to agree with Tom about the 3D art. If De'vo has been at this for two years now, then he's probably in too deep and won't be able to see the forest for the trees. Its a shame, Handlordz have put out very solid decks, particularly for cardistry, and I was curious to see what someone with De'vo's background could produce. At this point, the back design has to be utterly amazing to make this deck worth considering.
I thought of all the custom playing card companies out there that Handlordz or whatever the hell they're called now would have jumped all over MetalLuxe technology for sleek, shiny cards. I couldn't wait to see what they would come up with. But it's been years now and only crickets. This deck looks like a regress to me.
I was all over this project ready to back it but......
With a $6,000 goal, most backers will be from the U.S. At $23 shipping for 2 decks, $14.00 for one deck, and $58 for a brick is quite ridiculous regardless what you say or how you look at it...
There's no way it should cost that much for one or even two decks.

Agreed. I guess I'll pick these up on the aftermarket.

I like it, and would go for 2 decks of each.
Unfortunately this is only possible in a pack with 2 coins and 2 die @ 70 $.
I'm not interested in coins and die and the 4 decks i want are worth 50$ according to the campaign. Then there is 23$ int. shipping for that pack which means 93$ to get the 4 decks i want. Sorry, i will wait for the aftermarket aswell.

Kickstarter gives these and everyone a chance to increase the customer base which is required in such a competitive market. Low goal which helps in reaching the funding goal quickly provides an impetus to potential backers to pledge for it while the campaign is still running.
