Hey everyone-

After a long process, I'm ready to launch my Cocktail Hour Playing Cards on Kickstarter. The launch date will be Wednesday, May 18 at 12 p.m. EDT.

Thanks to everyone for their great feedback during the development phase. I really appreciate all your time and input!

Awesome- I'll be there. I love cards and drinking, plus this solid design makes this a no-brainer for me! If that tuck could be subtly embossed (like maybe just the font and diamond borders) that would be sweet.

I have stretch goals to add a little copper foil detailing and embossing. And you are correct –- it will be a light touch, so details like the name, cherry, glass and border, are some of the areas that will get embossed if we reach those goals. (copper foil will get added to areas that are rust colored now). A crude mock up is attached. Kinda hard to Photoshop subtle embossing.

And a solid color on the interior of the tuck box will be included for the original goal.

Since I'm not one to open my decks I wish the embossing were the 1st goal but here's hoping both are reached!

It seems a little backwards to ask a designer to favor people that won't actually use the product. But I certainly do hope the embossing goal is reached.

I wasn't asking her anything- I was voicing my opinion. Like I said, I hope this deck does so well that all stretch goals are unlocked!

I don't drink, but good design is good design, so I'm looking forward to these cards. I like the well-drawn colorful court cards and how the pips vary in size on the spot cards. That back design would look good as a full bleed back, but at least the border is thin as it is now. Good luck on the campaign!

$15 for 1 non-foiled, non-embossed Legends deck shipped is pushing it. I certainly hope those foil AND embossed stretch goals are reached- it would make the price worth it in my opinion. The $20 for 2 EB is a good deal but I'm not usually one to buy more than 1 deck. I'm still pledging either way; just deciding on a tier.

@vasta – I'm grateful that you're still interested in getting one! It's a really fun and beautiful deck and I've put a lot of love into the art to make it original (too bad you don't open them, but at least there's photos online, ha!) And I hope others are interested, too. My goal is set a little lower without some bells and whistles to ensure that it gets made. But I'm pretty confident that at least one – if not both – of the stretch goals will be met (I'm marketing like crazy). However, I can take another look at my budget and see if there's a little number crunching I can do. Let's see.

And by the way. Each card is associated with a classic cocktail. Look in the "Custom Card Drawing Board(?)" section for the backs.

The card backs can also be seen on the preview project page that Sarah was so kind enough to provide

And yes, as the others mentioned, the back design can be seen in the preview link above and in the development thread on this forum. But I'm attaching a shot of it here, too.

Shipping to Finland only 1 dollar, nice! This looks like one of those decks that will look better in hand and the pictures of it don't do it proper justice. I hope we hit both stretch goals!

Wanted to quickly say THANK YOU to everyone who backed this project so far! We've made some good progress, but I still have much to do to get us towards the goal (AND beyond!).

YES! All rewards include US shipping rates.

International shipping adds the difference in rates. I hope that makes sense?
(For example using the single deck – $1 is the difference between US and international postage costs)

ALSO - these are being fulfilled by Gambler's Warehouse. I mentioned that in the comments, but I'd like to repeat that here! (except for the art prints...)

I know it's early and I sometimes consider myself a pessimist but I don't think this will make it. Maybe it's the high price point keeping people away but I wish this would fund.

That picturre made me wanna drink one! And I'll surely do! lol
Shipping cost to europe is a pain in the ass unfortunately :S
