Don't know if this should be in this section though a moderator can decide if it stays or goes elsewhere.
This one is on everyone's whale list and though I won't pay the amount asked I think it's worth it.
Have at it everyone and good luck!

Edit: I originally put this on the "eBay auctions posted by people on crack" thread, but didn't want to make a discussion on it. I just wanted to make you aware so that you could take advantage of this boxed set sale since I won't.

omg, I loved that deck. bit too expensive for this one on ebay, might try ali later.

The deck theme is based on old time WaiTan Shanghai (as written on the box) and its also where I lived in childhood.

I wasn't following the general collector's market when this came out. Does anyone know who printed the decks?

Legends printed these out, though they were not offered to the public (at least directly through Legends)

I believe it was actually the first deck they printed..?

That would be a great addition to the collection but not sure i can justify that kind of money...

Yeah the bidding war is getting intense. Too rich for my blood. What makes it even more appealing is the boxed set with silver foil embossing.

It's hard enough to find these decks without the box, but that box is gorgeous! With single Bund18 decks going for $300 a pop, to see this bidding at less than $500 blows my mind, that's a steal for these...

It got as high as $550 and somehow it got retracted and it's back to $202.50
If anyone here gets this let me know. I like good news on a whale.
That is the perfect set to leave intact if you have a spare pair of these.

It's Chad McMillan's (Greenville SC) auction, I don't know, but from what you described somebody is either really antsy or just screwing with him. They make it FAR too easy to retract a bid these days, once you bid, you have entered a legally binding contract. Of course, if it's bogus, that's one thing. The fact is that he'll get his $200, don't know if it'll go for much more, but you never know.

I didn't expect the first MailChimp to go for $325, nor the last three Venexiana Gold decks to go for $300-$500 each, so we'll see what happens when people have time to chew on that Dale Mathis 3D v2 "Gold plated" deck with Jet Hematite Swarovsky Crystals. We already know somebody paid $3000 for Deck #1, and at least four other people (that we know of during the campaign) paid $750 for single digit ones, and there are never going to be more than 25, including the one I've got which is the "Artist's proof" as he called it during the campaign. Heck, I didn't even know it was gold plated brass fused stainless until Dale and I talked about selling it.

The reason it's so high is that this was never sold to the public, just like the gilded edition of the Stranger & Stranger presentation pair. It's tough to find!

Chad specializes in reselling goodies, he's bought several things from me, including 3 or my 5 JR "Unbranded Black Reserve Note" decks - for what was - at the time - a reasonably good (no great) amount. He holds onto them for a couple of year and resells them. He's also at least a partner behind that new site that sells rare decks, don't remember the name.

I am curious to see how this does, I was looking into getting a few of them to sell, but I would have thought I would see them get a little higher than they are

That was interesting. The guy who retracted 550 got it.

And the same guy who lost the single deck a while back lost the set again

Chad's online store is cardporn.com and has some pretty cool items.

Doesn't seem to be fair to be able to retract a bid and then win it later for less. What gives?

So true, that account shows that it has retracted 5 bids in the past six months. ?!?

The odd thing is, for that bid to have shown up, it would have to have been matched - at least within $25 at that region. It never would have gone about what it sold for, anyway.

eBay sucks.

More detail? eBay allows buyers to pretty much do anything they want, whenever with no consequences because sellers have got nowhere else (popular) to go. It doesn't hurt eBay if your buyer doesn't pay, or rips you off - they only get their commission when someone buys, so buyers are kings.

Pretty much dead on, buddy. They _should_ do more, they don't. You can't bid on one of my auctions if you've had 2 or more retractions in the past 6 months.

well. I don't wanna make 2 comments in same topic (clearly that feels spamming)
but I did something interesting the other day (because I am a big fan of bund, and my hometown is here)

i walked to bund18 and asked the front desk if they ever released or sell any high quality playing card by the name of bund 18.
Even though the answer was no, I still had a good time walking around there. so I thought i should post some pictures. it is a place worth making a card set for.

btw, who made that deck.(creator) just out of curiosity. its a great idea

I believe this one was designed in-house by Legends when Bund18 requested it for their opening party/anniversary

The bar or lounge in the building had them made in 2014 by Legends PCC for the 10th anniversary. I have seen recent copies with an insert for the 11th anniversary in early 2015, so they at least HAD more and put them away. If you look closely at the latest auction on eBay it has that 11th anniversary insert shown on top of the decks when you slide the presentation box open (in one picture).

So I assume the deck with standard with custom back? Also on ebay, how can a buyer rip you off? I would only have Paypal used so they'll actually have the money.

See the thread Hikeeba posted about his fun with Chris. EBay always rules in favor of the buyer these days, even if they are obviously con artists. The other trick is swapping decks and demanding refund, happens all the time, which is why I photograph outbound decks, now. There's also the rampant bid retraction problem, and ebay.com does nothing, even though it plainly says that by bidding you are entering a contract.

Thanks for the info. Seemed like the seller can easily rip off the buyer instead with providing the wrong info, not sending the right deck or not sending a deck at all.

ah, you know what. I think I know. its not on the first 2 floors. its the highclass louge on the 4th floor featuring michlen 3 star chief.
I should sneak in later and see if I can get a couple of decks, hahaha. thanks admin mike ;)
