Sweet. I have an uncut of the original JAQK deck... but not a deck as they are being sold at ludicrous prices. I had a feeling this day would come... re-release this deck and save me $75.

Looks like a deeper blue than the original and reprint though.

So T11. Nothing new. How many recolor tucks will we buy?

I agree with you. This is very likely to be a true blue recolor. Very cool in my opinion.

T11 has been able to get a lot of mileage off of the JAQK series, and ironically its not even one of their own designs. The JAQK decks are one of the few series whose re-colors have been well-recieved without re-color fatigue (think of the Artifice decks, for example). I fully expect green and gold in the future. Its also interesting how no one complains about how the JAQK courts are repeating.

Well i do. The courts were really good back in the day, but the 4th colour in the series, im pretty sure im fine with what i have at the moment, not sure this blue works with the deck. Anyhow, some people are pleased as they didnt pick them up previously, so i guess it makes sense that t11 are releasing them.
If and big if, they come up with 9 more courts, ill be in on this, but i seriously doubt they will.

See? Sinjin knows how to recolor. Green and gold sound excellent and more refined than the intense blue they came up with.

I liked the Black deck best but the red and the first blue grey deck were OK also. Might pick this 4th color in the series. Also tried their wine this summer at a dinner party and it was pretty decent

I picked up 6. This is my first JAQK deck so I don't feel to bad about it being a recolor.

It feels like they're trying to cash in on these. $10 per deck!
The Blacks were $7 and the reds $6. (Admittedly, 2 and 3 years ago respectively).

I'm a sucker for the Jaqk decks. Dunno why really, just think they're really nice. As such, picked up a bunch of these for myself and to be given out with bottles of wine as presents this holiday season.

To be fair it's still a fair amount cheaper than almost anything on Kickstarter, and nobody seems to complain about their prices.

I agree that it's moderately priced compared to current day decks but I think the reason why no one's complaining is because most Kickstarter campaigns aren't just a simple recolor (the 4th and counting, nonetheless...) without any other deviation from the original version.

Most Kickstarter decks are printed in much more smaller quantities than what T11 typically puts out, regardless of T11's claims of being "limited". Prices are definitely spiralling too high - I think in the very near future (if not already) you're going to see that custom playing cards have priced themselves out of the market and you're going to see a fall off among collectors. More and more collectors are either easing up on their spending and buying fewer decks, or they're getting ultra selective, or they're getting out altogether. And new collectors getting into the hobby aren't making up this difference like we've seen in the past year or two anymore.
As more and more excellent quality decks are produced, and more and more innovative bells and whistles are added, why are we seeing this exodus amongst collectors? Obviously its not lack of selection or quality or great art. It all comes down to price (as always in any industry). When you see someone like Gamblers put out a fully custom deck with ALL the bells and whistles like the Spirit deck and sell it for $9 shipped, you begin to wonder why other KS decks are inching towards $15 shipped (and with non-USPCC produced decks at that) within the same calendar year. And with a bigger company like T11 who have the benefit of economies of scale, they have the ability to produce decks at a much lower cost than individual KS artists, and even they're going to $10 per deck
before you even factor in shipping, it just makes you shake your head.

I like these, but seeing as I actually use majority of my cards $10 a pack is hard for me to justify.

I guess that is where I was getting to. A $10 deck from T11 means they're trying to collect a good sum off us collectors - as undoubtedly these will sell much better than their other average decks for the year. It's just like
if we saw another Smoke & Mirror deck from D&D - an easy way to take some more cream from an established brand.
I've been noticing how Ellusionist's e-mails are becoming more and more about magic, not cards. I suspect they're seeing exactly that - with the small number of excellent decks they're producing against the huge creativity that KS allows - they don't have a chance with 10-20k print runs.

Also, let's be real, space is a concern. I by no means believe I have a large collection but space is already becoming a question. Also, I believe people are becoming more selective to. I have certain tastes of designs I like. I learn towards great minimalist and mordern decks. Some of the interesting historical decks are cool, too. HOwever, there are soem phenomenally designed macabre decks that I'm just not into.

They sure as hell better print some more decks! Those goddamn liars are going to piss off a lot of Black Club members...

I think we should write them stating that we'll take legal action.

I didn't renew my BC membership. It's not worth it. Tired of promises....
I am excited to get my true blue JAQKs, though.

It seems like the blue JAQK finally sold out at theory11- took about a month though. Feels like they had quite a few decks, even if it was a recolour they probably sold tons of these. I'm starting to wonder how many decks that you actually could print and still call a limited edition - I mean 15.000 decks never to be reprinted is still limited I guess.
Any thoughts?
