Hello,
My friend will be launching a KS to fund his deck. I understand that is a common thing around here, so I thought I'd share a few things that makes this special.

-54 cards, each one featuring a sinister Silouhette.
-Each 4 of a kind tells a story, for example, 6's are Lovers, Kings are Villains, Queens are Femme Fatales
-Printed 310g Air-Stock Linen printed through MPC
-Approximately $15 USD which includes free shipping

$25 seems rather pricey for what it is.

If you mean this one is $25, valid point - http://madnessandtea.com.au/product/dev ... ing-cards/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Then again, it includes shipping and is probably AUD so just $19 so not as bad.

Otherwise, the one in question, TeaTime will be $15 it seems:

Here is the link. The Kickstarter just went live.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/10 ... ying-cards

As mentioned, the prices are listed in Australian dollars. It is roughly $15 with free shipping for USD.

Fyodor, the artist behind it, would like to develop The Devils Hand next. However, I believe he wanted to make it a functional card game as well as a poker deck.

I like the deck and the project, but the pledge tiers are somewhat limiting...I personally like to get two decks of playing cards, one to keep mint and one to open, but the only option for this is the 2 signed decks..would suggest having more tiers (i.e. 2 decks, 3 decks and 4 decks) as well as an add-on chart...for the moment, I am in for one (just saw the free shipping for early birds :D )

Good point Shermjack. We are relatively new to this, luckily we found these forums which have helped out a lot.

So these cards are already available on his website, what is he funding for on KS? Or is it a way to get funding for his other deck? If so that is bit odd.

These are not available on his website. He did have a previous version that was printed to order, but was very costly, lower quality, and less developed.

The Devils Hand is a deck that he would like to remaster in the future. Hopefully printing with LPC or a similar printer.

Received mine today, quite a bit later than planned (stated July 2015 deliver), but there were usual logistic issues and personal challenges that apparently came into play and had a friend help close it out. Anyhow, glad I got it since the artwork is dark and unique, but am again reminded how I hate MPC. Mostly because you can't open their tucks the first time without destroying the deck. Too tight and tuck too slippery to get it to open without a nail or risk ripping the top off with so much pressure.

Love these strange silhouettes ....
I would really, really like to see Fyodor further develop the Devils Hand as a deck the way he wished. 8-)
But these are fine.
Fine and Dandy.

Does makeplayingcards.com offer different tuck options?

There could be a dedicated thread on how people go about opening their decks/troubles with same.
I must admit to getting slightly surgical around this operation.

To be clear, the problem is not with the cellophane or the seal, it's simply opening the top of the tuck after removing them. Especially the first time, possibly because they have less variation in tuck dimensions when more cards are added or because the deck inside is shrink wrapped and even tighter? Another might be the design of the design flaps and how they can get caught in the top portion. All made worse by a tuck finish that is often glossy and slippery so no grip and one that is easily damaged if you try and use finger nail to get a grip.

Anyhow, once I got this deck opened I really liked it. The way the design goes to the edge and can be seen in the deck from the edges bothers me a bit, but I imagine it would look cool in a reverse fan and at least it's mirrored so you can't tell if a car or two is flipped within the deck as the edges still have the same pattern.

I just use a small flat head screwdriver to get the MPC tucks open the first time. No damage

Apparently they're going to stop shrink wrapping decks inside other packaging from February 1st. Maybe that will help - to have less stuffed inside the tuck.

Seems like this project creator has abandoned the project, fortunately I was not a backer.

Yes, project is 100% abandoned. I like the art but I'm unlucky... in batch of backers who never got cards or response

I got my deck back in January, but it was just a single deck. I assumed all went out, didn't realize there were so many issues. I imagine maybe it was anybody that got an uncut or other add ons that were delayed and then apparently abandoned with the issues he was having. Too bad, it's a nice deck despite being MPC. Maybe some day for the rest of you... :(

I see nothing happening with this one, however the creator is now selling the decks via Etsy.com
