Guys, it gives us immense pleasure to announce that our first solo project is now live on kickstarter. It took us a long long time to realise this dream and now it requires your support to become a reality.

We have made some changes to the art on the basis of some suggestions made by our friends here on "United Cardists" and now we are ready to dance.

So please click the link below to checkout the New deck for your collection and help us make it a reality!

Peace!

Hey everybody!

Hope everyone is ROCKING!

After designing custom playing cards for other peoples project (on kickstarter) we decided that its time that we design a kickstarter project for ourselves. So almost 6 months back we started to work on a New - Classic - deck and now we are pretty close to put it on KS BUT before we go live there, we wanted to share a very quick sneak peek with you all.

Hope the deck becomes a reality when it goes live on Kickstarter!

Thanks

I like the old school typography in the first shot. Going to keep an eye on this.

I thought Grimoire was designed by the Edgy Brothers. Did they outsource some of the design work?

I'm guessing it's the Bicycle deck, not the Edgy Bros deck.

Bicycle Grimoire

Love it! Would look REALLY nice embossed with the same type of material as Vintage Plaids were made out of.

It's nice. Hopefully it deviates enough from the classic designs it (presumably) is inspired by to be unique on its own :)

I don't care much for the tuck design, especially the logo font since it feels played out, but it's still good work. Adding embossing and details certainly would help though. The AoS is pretty cool, but I really love the look of the King. If the rest of the courts look like that I'll most likely be in.

Tuck cases are nice. Backs are normal. Aces are interesting.

Courts? Real royals and bikes... this is something strange. And indices iside frames? Interesting poker evenings are guaranteed.

Anyway, good luck. I hope the next design will be even more interesting. You can - it's clear.

Hmm not the best courts I've ever seen.. but I'll probably still pledge.

Amazing reworkin, it looks way better.
Still, 17 aus for international shipping is way too much, can't afford it, even with early birds. Good luck, anyway!

Thanks for liking the updated version.

The shipping is in Australian Dollar so might be feeling its a higher number....

Backed! I'm shocked to see how poorly this is doing in the first few hours- still only 1% :|

Everything has two sides. Kickstarter enlarges its presence in the world. From one side this is good (parallel improvements of Kickstarter itself could be even better). But new countries mean new currencies. New currencies mean new peculiarities.

Modern people try to simplify everything as much as possible. Quite often this provokes laziness and inattention. I believe currencies with the “$” sign can mislead people quite seriously.

I can suppose the following train of thought: New playing card project. - “$”, ok (it isn’t necessary that all will pay attention to that “AUD”-s). - And what the final goal of the project? - What!? $45.000?! And only two decks?! - Oh my! Omnia has three different decks and demands less. - Easy pass.

At the same time, backers have some right for that train of thought. Creators should be also a little bit wise and understand appropriate problem. For example, I give you my money to help with your commercial project. Why the hell I should search currency calculators to be able to figure out the real amount of money I have to pay for your decks. You need me more than I need you. It’s clear that the waste majority of Kickstarter backers are US customers. Appropriate explanation in the text of the campaign could be useful.

Also prices can be really high for many backers.

@9780design, was the start scheduled in accordance with Australian time or US time?

IMHO:
“Classic Royal Playing Cards” could have more sense. Without all those bicycles which don’t have anything common with appropriate royals. Some monarchical symbol instead of the bicycle could be much better.

Anyway, good luck.

Well, $17 AUD for shipping to Canada is very high. Why not use the good shipping system KS has now that will let you charge for specific locations? That would help.

Yup. The bikes just seem completely out of place compared to the rest of the regal themed deck.
