Bicycle Paragon now live on KS

New deck on Kickstarter from Shape Shifters Playing Cards...yeah better known as Cardicians. New name because they have a new partner after having major issues with Elite Playing Cards, including non-payment for their work and major fulfillment issues, plus apparently Elite has control of the Cardicians account. Now they are being fulfilled by Gamblers Warehouse.

Well.... Another Elite/Cardician look alike deck... Not that thisis a bad thing....
But as with elite/cardicians they put a lot more work in the ks page than in the actual deck. I doubt that the detail on the courts will show up as beautiful as it appears in the renderings (much as it happen with the Mayhem deck).
With all that said, I've pledged for one early bird!

Looks like the child of the Gold deck and Steel deck. I don't really like those 3D courts. It looks like it came out of an MMORPG in its alpha phase. But the dice box add-on is pretty cool.

I have to agree about the court cards - it's definitely different, but not to my appeal. As a side-note, I like how they integrated the halves to one another via the weapon/staff/item being connected. The JOS however feels a bit too busy, maybe because of the close-up at its center. The knives and the spears are too close to one another, making it a bit difficult to separate from each other when held at hand. If they were spread out a bit more like the KOS - easier to tell apart and the overlap is a nice effect.

Besides the court cards, the numbered cards and back designs look great! I especially love the AOS

That is because it is designed by the same people as I mentioned, but there are no longer partnered up with Elite because of issues they had.

I love their work, just wish they'd use a little more color. These decks are not user friendly to play with.

I and other backers have already mentioned the need for red pips in the comment section, and they have promised to make the change in the first update:

I agree with Veeve that the red suits need more red. Right now, you can see small hints of red peeking out through holes in the gold design, and on the large Ace pip, it looks cool. But on all the smaller pips those tiny slivers of red get lost and it functionally looks gold, same as the spades and clubs. I'd suggest either larger holes that show significantly more red through, so that you see red at a glance, or altering the color of the gold design, maybe giving it some reddish or copper highlights on the red pips. You want to be able to distinguish the colors at a quick glance from several feet away.

Haha they are always obsessed with GOLDDDD, just a little too much for me like all their decks, too busy. But I must give them credit for the courts, well illustrated wish the deck was much cleaner..

You've just managed to articulate what I have not been able to for a long time. This is exactly what goes through my head every time I see decks like this. I always just say its a bit too cartoony, thinking I guess of the crappy computer cartoons from the mid 90's??? maybe?? But on reading that its much more accurate to how these impact on me....
It not that its not OK, it just rubs me the wrong way. Personal taste thing, but its just not good in cards for my personal tastes...

I agree the courts have an old school 3d feel to them but I still like the decks and now that they have redesigned the corner pips, they should be much easier to use in game play.

Just messaged them about my rewards and I'm fairly mad about his response. They apparently skipped me over during the shipping process and now due to that, they don't have the coin set I pledged for. Being their first project under the new name, I think this is definitely not looking good for them.
