I like it, I want it, but I don't know about getting it from that site. Not because I don't trust it but because it's too much translating. So if someone from the US gets a bunch, please PM me. :) Thanks in advance!

It's a trustworthy site. This is actually USPC official online store over there: http://hqswj.tmall.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I was going to get an account and sign up. Unfortunately I am not able to translate enough to sign up for an account.

Few decks that I had not seen before that site. Guess they are on eBay but quite a bit more expensive.

Hey this is a beautiful deck. I love the subtle goat head with the ram horns. Really nice finish on the deck too, green and gold looks really rich

Interesting that they also have the Cigar deck which the US 808 site lists as sold out.

I like the art deco style of course, but a stretch to combine that with the goat year (apparently it was picked because art deco's prime year was a goat year). Lack of custom courts makes this a pass for me, but I can see the appeal.

How can you tell the courts aren't custom? We can't even see them.

Exactly.

If they were custom, they'd be shown.

The tuck sure is lovely, but I wouldn't bother for standard courts.

Just because they aren't shown means nothing but you could be right. Either way it looks good, too many people miss out on too many decks because the courts aren't custom.

Anyway it's like $55 to ship to Canada, I think i'll wait!

The "Year of the Horse" deck was standard. I think it's safe to assume that these are too.

And another
Celebrating Chinese New Year - Year of the Goat
Bicycle® Goat Deco
1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015, 2027
People born in Goat years are creative, dependable, intelligent, and calm. Their mild mannered, shy, and sympathetic nature serves them well as they excel socially.
This deck was inspired by Goat Year 1931, when Art Deco was de rigeur in Shanghai. As 1931 was a metal goat year, this deck uses metallic bronze foil and rich emerald green paper for luck.

WRONG!!!

I have learned this the hard way Victor, and I'm surprised you haven't learned it yet yourself. ;)

NO ONE goes through the time and effort to make custom courts, and then says, "eh, I can't be bothered to show them when I'm advertising the deck"

I've fallen for this more times than I care to admit, because the card back and the AOS were so cool, i assumed there was no way they wouldn't have cutomized the courts too. Suckered!
Lesson finally learned.
Keep it Sizzlin'!

When I saw the title of this thread, I was like.... Whaat? Goat and Deco are two things I didn't think would go together. But this design is pretty nice and I'd be interested in purchasing a few if the price is right. :)

Deck looks great. Pips are custom but the courts may be standard with custom colors which is ok at times. Someone important to me was born in 1955 and the words mentioned describes him.
"When I like something, I buy. No matter who did it, how many were printed or how many (re)colors exist.

When I don't like something, I pass. No matter who did it, how many were printed or how many (re)colors exist."

For some reason I love this "series" (if you want to call it that). I have the serpent and the horse and I will surly get this and (hopeful) the other 9 when they come out. Can't wait for the ox! Even though these have traditional courts, each year the quality is better and better. Last year, plain tuck. This year, embossed and foiled tuck. Who knows what next year's monkey will have!

There is one thing that I don't get... I've seen that this is the year of the sheep on some zodiac calendars. Can someone with experience on the subject matter care to explain?

Sorry for the double post but a coworker just (sort of) answered my question. Apparently the Chinese call a goat a "mountain sheep." Why they don't have a seperate word for goat is beyond me.

This series just isn't cohesive enough for me. Had they all been in the same style, and one that I liked, I could get behind it and collect 'em all. But when they're so different there just isn't any incentive to have the set. Not to mention the USPCC's track record when it comes to deck series

I don't mind it at all. But I also liked how different all the decks in the E Prohibition set are.

Well each of the liquor had its own character hence i see why the different styles, theseee well are all over the place, but i must say these are the best out of the lot so far.

vasta41 wrote:why they don't have a seperate word for goat is beyond me.
Oh, "yang" in this case is more a generic word for goat/sheep/ram, think of it like the genus of the species. To specify what exactly you are referring you, you would need a prefix to the generic word, in this case we attach mountain to "yang" to refer to goat, and something like "furry" to "yang" to refer to sheep. Also, interestingly if you didnt know, there is a good portion of chinese words that evolved from drawings, and "yang" here is one of these.

"I had the pleasure of handling and seeing these in person today. I feel that the box is similar to the Hollingworth deck and it is printed inside as well with gold foil(didn't manage to take a pic of that). They do indeed have custom tweaked courts that feel and look deco. "

I cannot wait for this deck to hit a site written in English and preferably one based in the US. I'm not bias or anything, I simply will not sign up for a new website nor make a financial transaction on a website that I literally can't read (even with 'translate').

The store is in Singapore. The owner received the Goat Deco deck as a sample ahead of delivery, so they're not actually for sale yet. I plan to get a few decks once they've arrived. :)
