Didn't see anything regarding this deck. It's the latest from Madison and McKinnon and now available to Black Club members. If you buy 12 you get 1 free as usual. The free deck is a gold one with only 300 available and all signed by Madison.

Can you post the link? They're not sending out the Black Club newsletter to all the Black Club members.

This link is to; http://www.ellusionist.com/kings-white- ... dison.html.

EDIT:
It's interesting that these are Kings WHITE playing cards. I think we can all foresee many other colours down the track. Also they seem to be slightly de-emphasizing Daniel Madison here. (Perhaps he didn't have time to try all 500 different stock combinations on these ... ;) )

If you thought the hyperbole couldn't get any extreme...

They can keep the black club and the overpriced junk in it. talk about taking advantage of a collector.

Wtf?! The Video for the product says/shows NOTHING about the deck... i just wasted 3mins of my life.
Nothing really new here. Marked and pre stacked deck is nice also the gaff card seems to be cool but seriously i would not pull one of those out of my pockets to perform at gigs with them. The back design is very boring :/

Maybe one day i will pick one deck up when its on sale - very easy pass.

Are you saying these are overpriced at $8 each, worked put to $9ish with shipping? Compared to Kickstarter decks which usually cost $10-15 plus shipping I don't think it's overpriced.

Besides the box, nothing appealing about this deck. Pass.

I think this is a mood deck, have to be in the mood for it. Sometimes I like how it looks, sometimes I don't. Right now, I kinda don't, yesterday I kinda did. Glad I didn't watch the video if they don't show the deck haha.

No, but to become a member is ridiculous and all the other items they have are.

I had a rather lengthy note encompassing my feelings on this one, but it's probably counterproductive to my own image to be so negative.

IDK, if you compare it to the (Green) Gatorbacks @ $60/brick they're overpriced. If you compare them to Draconian (which funded today) they're a similar price, but much more plain. Sure, if you compare them to... say Seasons, yes they're cheaper - but so are a deck of Bikes - and in terms of style and cleanliness of design I'll take 'em Rider Backs I think.

Regarding the membership I completely agree, the Black Club in it's first year was worth it (to me), but other than a few Gold Artifice's there's really been nothing since. It's all some variation of Madison this or that, which never sells out in the '24 hour exclusive' period - probably because it's mass produced drivel (yes, I have way too many) - so everyone who didn't pay that outrageous membership price gets the same access.

anyone know how many they printed? I cannot find it anywhere. Also, some images of the actual deck would be nice, not just random images of the box and one King card. Its like they are selling an experience, not a deck of playing cards.

The regular Kings deck is not limited from what I know, so I'm guessing around 20k first run. The one included with every brick, the gold foiled one, is a limited run of 300 decks.

Well whether you agree with it or not, like the strategy or not- that's exactly what they are doing and it's mighty successful!

If you're based in Europe, we have a pre order available for these now. £5.99 each for the first 48 sold. They're estimated to be in stock by Tuesday.

That had to be the worst production video ever made. Pandering to kids that play GTA and think tight pants are cool (seriously, was Madison wearing yoga pants and ballet shoes in the video? Thought he was supposed to be a hardened criminal. No wonder he got the crap kicked out of him for cheating.)

Anyway, more blown up Michael Bayesque marketing for a VERY underwhelming deck of cards. And if I saw someone do the tear the corner off the card and pretend to meld it on the back I'd be laughing in their face. Me thinks they are running out of ideas, even moreso than the constant recoloring of the tucks.

Next deck, they'll be cooking meth, in their tighty whities, inside an RV out in the boonies...but instead of meth, a deck crystalizes....:

MadisoN KIngpins.

See, that's actually a good idea though, but one major flaw. Features too much of the deck. And Madison doesn't seem like a tighty whities guy, more like a gold sequined banana hammock guy.

Perhaps it's time to change the topic from "Madison Kings" to just "Kings" or something since they aren't a Madison branded decks like his others. Might cause confusion down the road otherwise.

(Ok, I admit it. My OCD can't handle it.)

So, the Kings host the Sabres tonight and, while I've always been a Buffalo fan (having grown up there), Los Angeles look pretty tough to beat right now.

Tonight's game will be televised on the Madison Square Garden Network. True story!

I used to kinda like the Kings, well I was ambivalent to them at least. That all changed last year when it became glaringly obvious the Kings payed off the refs to take the cup away from my Rangers. 20 years since the greatest Captain in history hoisted the cup and I'll have to wait another year all because of the freaking Kings.

@Gareth - Thanks for the link. I hope they sell lots of cards. The price is good. I like the theme Of an axe and a sword. I for one know the deck started with 2 swords and 2 axes. Yes, the "Suicide King" had an axe at first. The Next theme could be Scepter and Flowers. Who has always had the Scepter? Everyone should know that. The Last is the knaves. Who had the bow? and the rest have some kind of pike? Great resource: http://whiteknucklecards.com Shhh. I got a secret. I just know the L. Hewson is spelled wrong. It should be C. Hewson. Check out the JoC who has the arrow in essence the bow? and the other three knaves have some kind of halberd. So in this case you would have a bow and a pike together in the picture instead of a sword and axe.

I clearly approach cards and their marketing in an utterly opposite way and I guess I care too much, particularly after spending nearly a week straight discussing incredible levels of beauty and originality with the likes of Jackson Robinson, Alex Chin or Bill Kalush all while surrounded by artwork that is 100 years old and (IMO) surpasses efforts like the Kings in every conceivable metric.
