There will be a need to delete decks that are duplicates or have other errors. However, if users already added to their collection the assumption is they just are removed without errors (please confirm). This is an annoyance and ideally the deletion should provide a means to locate and replace the deck id in user collections. For example if a deck is duplicated as deck ID 125 and 150, then if 150 is deleted there should be an option on delete to specify that 125 is the replacement so the application can go out and update all collection values of 150 with 125. This then allows people's collections to remain intact when a duplicate is removed.

We now have a basic delete function for anyone with the editor permission:

It just hides the deck from the site, this will need to do until I have time to make it smarter

A soft delete is definitely better than a hard one for the time being.

Would it be possible to see which of the decks in your collection have been soft deleted? It would make it much easier to manage your own collection that way.
Maybe a secondary list on your profile page with 'Replace' and 'Remove' options for each one -
- 'Replace' would allow you to pick a different deck and trnasfer your personal collection info onto that new deck (number owned, personal title etc)
- 'Remove' would simply romove (hard delete) the deck and associalted data from your collection

If you can give slightly simpler tools to collection owners, along with the soft delete, you might not need the more complex intelli-delete...
