Liking it so far!

The current trend is to create super-limited and rare editions to coincide with even more exclusive "Prototype" versions. Of course, this brings with it higher prices for the backers and customers that reach well over $20 or more per Deck. Hopefully this trend will soon turn for the better.
The Draconians will be printed, fittingly, by Legends Playing Card Co. The project will have a very simple setup - the Lightning and Spitfire Decks plus a Draconian Coin. NO high-priced "Limited", "Rare", "Exclusive" or "Prototype" Editions, just a strong design with the promise of a one-time printing and a print quantity to cover fulfillment plus a few extras for lost or damaged Decks. The Draconian is a one-off design (NO recolors) that will feature an Optical Illusion Borderless Back design and plenty of Foil, Embossing (Tucks) and Metallic Inks (Tucks and Cards) at a very cost effective price.
I think I just cried a little. Manly tears of joy.

Huge coup for Jackson and Kimgs Wild Funded! Looks like these are the ones teased mid July. Gorgeous.

I'm glad the responses are good after seeing the Tucks! Here's some info I posted to The Discourse earlier:
After posting the Midnight / KW Funded teaser, I have changed direction on the quantity / pricing strategy - inspired by Don's "Playing Card Bubble" thread. The original plan was 1,500 Limited of each Deck (a pair), individually numbered seal stickers, priced around $14 MSRP per Deck. My new strategy is open-ended print numbers (during the campaign), no seal stickers (I prefer Tucks without them), priced around $9 MSRP per Deck (much lower for higher quantity orders).
The lower price would still contain lots of bling on the Tucks - Foil, Metallics, Embossing... We're still working on whether it will be through KW Funded or if I switch it over to Kickstarter. Seeing as I would need as many eyes as possible with the new pricing strategy, I'm leaning towards Kickstarter. I would use KW Fulfillment either way!
And then a later post:
I usually don't share this much info, but I'll take the chance. Here's the Pledge Rewards breakdown I have planned out. This would be the price for U.S. KS backers. INT. Backers would, of course, have a little extra shipping fees. I'm basing the $11 tier as $9 + $2 shipping.
thanks, Randy

This makes me so happy
Saw the Kardify story on my fb feed and thought the tucks looked awesome and then I saw it was Randy/MCC and knew I'd be buying. Can't wait to see the coin, Imperial's is still my favorite (Grotesque's might have tied it though).

To run a crowdfunded custom playing card campaign that is reasonably priced does not fit the King$Wild Funded paradigm so far, so I would definitely go with Kickstarter. You've built up a lot of brand equity and good will with the custom playing card community, so I wouldn't risk blowing that with $20.00+ "limited" editions. Your printing and pricing strategy is a badly needed breath of fresh air, especially lately. Kudos to you, Randy, and hopefully this is a start of a new trend.

Maybe just a little air escaping...
.
That said, I notice those ultra limited, "exquisitely printed", Hive decks over at KWF are still available. Hmm... no further comment necessary.
....exceot to say that I'll take a split brick, thanks Randy.

The answers to both of these questions are in the Kardify reveal - it's my first solo project, and it will be printed by Legends Playing Card Co. - which I think is very appropriate considering the theme! Lawrence and I have already talked over details concerning the best Tuck paper stock to use and the best printing features (Foil, Metallic Inks, Embossing, UV Varnish...) to get the look I'm going after.
Thanks, Randy

Ornate is awesome and the detail on this is impressive based on the image on close up on FB
Lovely!

I haven't seen the back but I'm guessing it's scaly.
I think it would be amazing if there were a gaff card with the dragon heads you have on the tucks. So when you fan or spread the decks you get a kickass dragon. That idea has been done before but with a one way back, nevertheless really cool.

I think Randy's nailing it again with this deck, really can't wait to see how the full deck turns out.
As far as pricing goes, I personally think we may see a a few designers "'trend' towards lower pricing after a few more KS projects don't get funded or the like (probably not many, at least to begin with) )Randy and myself have talked a little about finding ways to lower the price of future editions of LUXX (not just by increasing print numbers), but that's a little down the road.
As has been said to him already, kudos to him.

I'm pretty much ready to go. I'm waiting out a few things first (Seasons KS launch, LUXX pre-order, T11 Decks, Army Deck KS launch, Sawdust KS launch, HOPC White ORNATE release... — it's a crowded time!). This year's Labor Day is almost like the new Black Friday.
I know what date I'm shooting for but I don't want to say it out loud yet. The White ORNATE fulfillment is taking a week or two longer than we expected, so I already had to delay my plan a bit to allow for the HOPC release getting pushed back.
Once everything comes into place, I'll go forward very quickly.
thanks, Randy
