Wow, an $8 EB deck. It's been a while since I've seen one of those haha! I've been following this in the Custom Deck Drafting Board forum here, and it's great that is finally out on KS. I hope this makes it!

In for an EB, an extra deck and a coin for my treasure chest. Yep, I keep my coins inside a mini treasure chest.

What I like best is the pips, they're great. Even for $8 I'm very iffy about this deck.

I like the tuck art, especially arrangement on the template.

Just in case anyone missed it, the creator of this deck posted in the Custom Deck Drafting Board for feedback a while back - http://www.unitedcardists.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5393

I really like this deck. I grew up on the shore and love the theme. I grabbed a brick. I pondered getting the likeness package but I didn't want to scare the rest of you off!

Pretty cool deck, will contemplate on it for a while though as nautical stuff really isn't my bag. But I do have to say I absolutely love how the suicide king is done.

**Edit. That didn't take long, saw that there were 99 backers and couldn't resist being #100. In for early bird.

The artwork is pretty nice and for $8, I'm in for 1 deck but that's all.

I like it! And the price is cool. I'm in.

I must say that I fear that USPCC will reject the design of the Suicide King, with all that blood. That would be a shame, I like it. But they recently rejected a more subtle design in the Olde Bones project.

The project page states that all the artwork has been approved by USPCC, except for those that are going to be done based off of backers' likenesses.

EDIT:
Legal approval from USPCC has been obtained. All that remains to complete this project is to finish the last court cards/jokers/gaff cards that will be revealed during the campaign. The only remaining artwork after the campaign will be for the Likeness reward levels.

Keep in mind that USPCC approved Global Unrest's artwork at first. They didn't pull the plug until nearly the end of the campaign. I'll believe it when they are in my hand.

That's true. I didn't consider that. Hopefully things work out for the creator. I got an EB. :)

Same here. It's a nice deck. USPCC is a little to PC when it comes to approvals.

Howdy. First off thanks for all of the kind words and for backing my project. With the suicide king art , as necromanced said, its ultimately in USPCC's hands. I do want to point out that my statement about legal approval was that USPCC legal had reviewed the tuck art, card back, and a sample of the courts and numbered cards, and gave me the green light to go forward with the project. This was before I had drawn the suicide king.

I have just emailed my rep at USPCC to get an answer about this as quickly as possible. I'm sorry for any confusion on this.

I have to ask. What's with the onward and wayward motto I see everyone chanting? I have a feeling they're part of something. Fan club perhaps?

Shhhhhh.

Don't want Disney to demand sexy Ariel be taken down. That's my favorite card so far. And the back. :)

The Onward and Wayward refers to The Wayward Backers facebook group. A bunch of us met through the comments section of the Name of the Wind campaign and decided to set up a facebook group to continue conversations about kickstarters, science fiction, fantasy, books, movies, collecting, general geekery, etc... It's a very active group of over 800 members worldwide. We don't take kindly to spam though so, we ask that anyone who joins the group introduce themselves and participate for awhile before asking us to back their kickstarter. Galen is a valued member and we want to see him succeed.

Quick update on the suicide king. I got my response from Tiffany at USPCC saying they see no problems with the artwork. :) Look for a new update on the project tomorrow!

Indeed it is :)
I would also like to assure everyone that the redheaded mermaid is not intended to be Ariel at all. :P Did any of you ever read the original story of the Little Mermaid, by Hans Christian Andersen? My god, it is dark! Here's a link to the pdf of the story. It's very short, and was published in 1837, so it's legit to share this.

Oh, it's based on the little Mermaid of the original story? That's awesome. :) It would be great to know more about each court and where you got your inspiration. :)

@Galen: Tell me about it. A few months ago I bought a HCA story compilation. Suffice to say I'm sticking to the Disney retellings. The originals are depressing and gruesome.
