These will be coming soon to Kickstarter from theCardists & Simon Tornberg, apparently there was some demand for them. Being printed by Ivory just like the original version but with a better stock apparently

Still think his font "2013" doesn't go with his deck and to call his cards "Grain Back" the "Grain Back Deck" seems a bit redundant.
Liked his clubs though. Looks like a phallic symbol.

Very. Also, why wouldn't he go for a better printer this time? I.e. USPCC/EPCC. If the demand is there (as is claimed), he shouldn't have any trouble selling the decks. Just seems like the logical move for me to upgrade <shrug>

He told me it would be "Ivory" which is the same company ("Lemon") with upgraded paper stock.

I meant upgrade the printer, not the stock

The black and gold tuck looks better. I wonder if these are going to be the same deck as the last one with the red and blue tucks or will they change the pips/courts.

The only real interest I had for the Grain Backs was around the release of the original deck, but only because my friend was working for Ashley at the time. I'm surprised anyone would demand for more of these.

Pretty sure "ivory" means
http://www.ivorygraphics.co.uk. As far as I'm aware they use CartaMundi UK to print, could be wrong though.

Likely so, Paul! I have a couple of the original Grain Back decks Ashely had them make, and that was my initial reaction: "those sure look like CM decks"... Would not surprise me at all.

Decent, not bad. If you have seen Alice of Wonderland it's a step up. Those were CM.
Just not what we spoiled Merikuns are used to.

Never picked up the originals, just always seemed sub par to me. Wish they had at least changed the font they used for "a quality deck..." And for that matter, I really don't like when decks have to proclaim themselves as a quality or luxury deck of playing cards. That should be portrayed through the artwork and quality of the tuck case, not a blunt statement.

if he's doing it on KS cant' we URGE him toward using a better printer? Seems like he'd want a deck that "handles well" since he is always going on and on about how decks handle
