Hi all. I have been following unitedcardists as a guest for a while.
The announcement of CardLauncher has brought me to sign up here and hopefully be a little more active. I am frustrated with Kickstarter and its total lack of accountability for creators who fail to deliver. I feel that for a collector there is a better sense of community and purpose here and am excited to see CardLauncher hopefully address those concerns I have with kickstarter in particular!

Welcome Gemini!
What do you collect - non standard - particular brands - particular artists?
I'm partial to non standard courts myself but have no particulars beyond that, just whatever appeals. Would be less expensive if I had a finer filter

Hiya Gemini
Glad to see another Brit join the ranks. I`m looking forward to reading some of your thoughts on Kickstarter and what makes it frustrating for you ?
Are you a deck collector or do you do interesting things with the cards you have.
Whatever your preference there`s Tons of good stuff here and some great people too, Just don`t be afraid to voice your opinion or ask for advice.

Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome! I am mainly a collector, nothing specific I tend to go for what I like to look at rather than any value or specific niche, though that may change as time goes on!
@Jase – I find kickstarter frustrating mainly because; today, of the currently 17 project rewards overdue only 3 have fulfilled their pledge which I feel at under 18% is a poor return for the risk inherent in giving strangers your money. A good example would be;
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/10 ... ight-glows" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; where after a string of abuse and profanity to other backers the creator has simply deleted his account, having used the $5,000 to fund his ebay business and kickstarter seem to have no issue with that as his main account remains open? I am looking elsewhere to fulfil my philanthropic urges.
That is also why I am excited about CardLauncher, and it looks like it will address this issue of accountability and meeting deadlines, it is for an area I have a specific interest in, great idea and I hope it works and is a great success!

Very true, in fact the entire basis that we started out with was how to remedy the poor backer experience on KS, and I am certain that what we put together is bullet proof as far as being fraud free - to the point we actually have a "Guaranteed Rewards Delivery"® logo & promise. We basically insure that everything you put your money down to fund is indeed going to be delivered to your door. That originally only included decks and uncut sheets, but the partner system was expanded to include coins, card guards, dealer buttons, ceramic poker chips and we're still working on pulling Chessex in for dice.

Wow, that guy needs a reality check. Such a shame Kickstarter don't do about these people.
Welcome to the forum!

Thank you for the welcome.
What a day! The last 24 hours have dashed the hopes I personally had for cardlauncher.com which are yet to be realised, so frustrated and disappointed. I even went and checked in on kickstarter, which I had vowed I would never do again...
