I like the cartoon look, this just isn't my cup of tea.
Feeding the addiction one deck at a time.

I suspect a intellectual property infringement (world cup on back, country jerseys, ...).

Good Lord, this is just the beginning of World Cup related projects popping up.

Is it just me or does some that artwork look like it is low resolution that is trying to be blown up to be big enough to be printed?

The industry from my day job involves a LOT of this type of "almost" cross-promos with majors porting events. Every year we have to design "Big Game", "Go for the Title".... type of programs eluding to the Super Bowl and March Madness for very big Alcohol brands. We've already done a couple World Cup "inspired" programs for El Jimador and Jack Daniels and last year we did the attached Vodka design during the Winter Olympics in Sochi (I was able to use the Imperial Kremlin for that one!). This type of unofficial cross-promo is a big part of the Alcohol Industry, and I'm not surprised to see it flow over to Cards as well.Eoghann wrote:Good Lord, this is just the beginning of World Cup related projects popping up.
When Alex and Kevin asked if I wanted to design a Brazil / Soccer themed Deck, I jumped at the idea because it could be a fun and vibrant design. I also did so because I know what can and can't be done without getting into any legal issues, but still keep it relevant to the desired event. This Kickstarter Deck has legal issues all over it!! A word like World Cup would be off limits and there's no way they could print it with the athlete's drawings and not get into trouble, That's just the obvious red flags.
Thanks, Randy

I don't have time any more - or at least for the next 6 to 8 weeks, but unless they have a license from "FIFA" (I think that's correct?) aren't the peeing in their shoes here? It may feel all nice and warm, but never-the-less they're going to wet themselves again (if not worse) when that "Cease and Desist" order comes in the mailbox, or e-mail - because AFAIK e-signature and delivery is legal in all 50 states and almost every jurisdiction overseas with a few notable exceptions (like North Korea, Cuba and Libya) that American's can't buy good and services from in the first place - reasonable or not - it's the law.
That reminds me that I haven't posted anything about that specificity: your campaigns run in U$$ and you must have a United States or other acceptable PayPal supported bank account connected to your project . I'd love to be more effective but that's about all I can do.
If PayPal won't take payments, it's not my issue, it's "yours", and as much as I hate to say it, I'm not willing to pay someone $5000 to add a single line of code (or three) to support an alternative payments gateway processor / partner. Maybe after 6 weeks when I'm trying to breath through that tube attached to the bottle rocket, I can have another method added, but for now it's all or nothing: you have a PayPal account or you can't use CL. That's short-sided from my perspective any way you look at it because I never want to have all my eggs in one basket, but from the realistic perspective it will have to do.
