Hi everyone!
I`ve been checking out posts for a few weeks, so thought it might be time to sign up!
My name is Scott Kruse (rhymes with `booze` ) and I live about 1 hour from Toronto.
I`m a 46 year-old high-school teacher. I`ve been doing card magic as a hobby, off and on, for about 20 years. Recently, I`ve discovered the heady world of card collecting, which has added a whole new dimension to my interest in cards! The number and variety of decks available today is mind boggling - when I started doing magic, there was really nothing other than Bikes and Bees!
So far, I have about 75 different decks after 3 months of collecting. I`m lucky to have a good magic shop in my town where I can buy obscure decks over the counter. I went to high school with the owner, so I get some good deals! Also, I`ve joined Club 808, and have started backing projects on Kickstarter (my Killer Klowns should arrive soon!) Right now, my prized deck is my Jackson Robinson Sherlock Holmes (Baker Street Ed.) I missed the KS campaign, so I ordered them from Kings Wild. Three decks, plus international shipping and foreign exchange set me back nearly 100 bucks Canadian ... worth every penny!!
Anyway, I don`t want to bore people with my very first post, so I`ll end here! Just want to say that I`m looking forward to tapping into people`s knowledge and expertise on this forum ... Hope I can offer a bit in return!
Thanks, Cardists!
P.S. I can`t believe I just spilled my beer and soaked a brand new pack of Bees! Glad my Jackson Robinsons were far from the scene of the crime!
