"SiteLock" support - scanned daily for malware, etc

Unread post by Mike Ratledge »

I finally got the problem with our "Seal" for SiteLock fixed, and it always shows when the last full system scan was done. Instead of making it "float" on every single page, I put it in place in the most popular forum, the one that people use most: "New & Custom decks" subforum under the "Playing Cards" forums in the "Forum" banner in green at the top of the page. I realize it's a little intrusive, but it's a good sign that we are secure and virus-free, which is scanned daily automatically and it should always show today's date or the previous day, depending upon when the scan is done. It is run roughly every 24 hours, and checks for any malicious code in the forums as well as protects us from malicious activities by others by scanning actively when anyone uploads or posts comments. It automatically rejects any post that contains a link to anything malicious that is found off the site by preemptively scanning all links posted here.

If anyone has problems, or notices anything not working properly, please send me a note by PM.

I have been noticing a very dramatic decrease in spam posts lately, guess this is why! Thanks Mike!

Yep, it has things that deny access from known spam websites, automatically screens posts and rejects them by dropping the connection, etc. It should help (a lot!)...

It's been working for a few days - maybe a week, but I just figured out how to get the "Seal" to display yesterday afternoon.
