Hello everyone, I'm new to this website and playing cards in general. I Kickstarted a number of various projects and lately have seen a number of playing card decks being offered. I am completely new to cards and had really no idea so many decks were available. I always thought the standard Bicycle deck was pretty much it since that's all that can be found in most stores. I backed a few of the current running projects and did some searching online and discovered this forum. I have an interest in cardistry as well as collecting decks. I figure it's as good a hobby as any other. I am from Minneapolis and am in my early 30s. I actually don't own any decks at this point however of the projects I've backed I have 2 decks of each and some uncut sheets coming. I figure one deck to keep unopened for display and another to use?

Hi neighbor! Welcome to the odd collection hobby. Being a car guy I believe cars are meant for driving and that thought process extends to my decks as well. I don't abuse them with drunken poker play, but I open every single one and keep in a display case. A select few I'll buy 2 copies of so I can better share their artwork with others with casual gameplay. It seems many here will buy multiple decks or entire bricks, but I'm trying to keep things contained as I have too many other areas that I like to spend money!
