I don't think this has a topic yet. I like the design idea, it has standard faces though. That isn't a problem to me personally but I know a lot of people on this forum won't like that.

Nothing wrong with it, but too simple for my taste. And the high price tag doesn't help either.

So much more could be done with the faces. Back is beautiful, but won't be getting them.

Nice backs. Like the colour used and the simple white lines. Thin boarders also.
Decent price too in my opinion.
Pledged for a few.

Saw these from Magic - Con previews... would be nice, but price tag way out of my ball park.

I pledged for 2 of them. First Kickstarter Project I ever backed because I live in Europe and The Shipping is ok for me
Usually I wait for resellers in Europe to get Kickstarter decks.

I met Benji at Magic-Con a couple weeks back. He was such a nice kid. Very polite and also a very talented designer and cardist. He shared with me his concept for the deck and the design elements that went into it and I was impressed. I have to say, he really worked hard on this deck and at 14 years-old (I think) he really did a great job putting together his Kickstarter campaign.
No problem at all backing the project and helping his dream come true.

6 decks for $51 including US shipping isn't terribly bad. I went ahead and bit the bullet.

Why most KS projects from the UK have standard qualities? Regardless where a project is coming, if I like I'll pay extra but not for this one.

I don't mean to be so negative, but knowing that he's 14 makes me a bit concerned about the fulfillment side of things, if this funds. Even people much older and with more experience get overwhelmed by fulfillment, so I'm curious how he's going to handle all of this.

I really enjoy the blue, and the tuck is simple but stands out with that fun lightbulb. Will go in for it for at least a couple. Not worried about fulfillment, this is a rep builder for this kid.

Had a chat with Benji re: his design background, the inspiration & design evolution of the Icon and support from the playing card community.

As always, nice one, Ivan! He is trying hard, could use a little help. Love the backs...
I just went for ½ brick, $51 with shipping is very reasonable price!

Very good read Ivan. Found it interesting one of his inspirational decks is Absolut because this deck does seem to have similar underpinnings. I hope he succeeds, may boost my pledge from 1/2 to full brick if he's on the tipping point.

Well this deck has funded but under mysterious circumstances. I checked yesterday and there were about 3000-400 pounds short and not looking good. Now all of a sudden they are funded. I checked out the backers, the last pledges came from 4 different brand new accounts all from 1 person. Why not just use 1 account?

Could be a dealer or the like who wants to ship products to different addresses.
But, that said, I'd ask the creator for an explanation, and if a good explanation isn't offered soon, I'd back out. (Since I'm not a backer as it is, I won't be backing out, but if I were in it, I'd be worried about a Founders situation here.)

I agree. I did send him a message. All 4 accounts were just created and have no info on them.

Remember guys, this guy is a kid of age 14/15 ? Personally I don't think this is a scam, but I would have my reservations about this project, the kiddo might have bitten off more than he can chew. Plus he has more than a couple of friends blowing hot air up his arse, I wouldn't come close to this project, it's hardly custom anyways.

I'd be a lil skeptical. At 14, if he chooses to take the money and run, not much even courts could do about it. He's a minor. I dont even see how KS is allowing him to run his own campaign.

Yeah he's supposed to have an adult running it.

His family:
I should add that my whole family, especially my Dad, will be supervising this project and helping me to make sure everything runs smoothly during the whole process.

I think the adult is supposed to be more involved though in projects which doesn't seem to be the case.

I sent a note as well and haven't received an answer yet.
So is this the person with 4 accts that paid the money? Dylan Tay?

Hey everyone, Benji here! First of all, sorry for the very late reply, I would of liked to have jumped on sooner but as you can imagine I have been pretty busy recently. This seems like a cool forum! You now all have my full attention and I would like to try and address everything I can that has been mentioned.
I would like to thank of all of you for all of your compliments and also criticism. Everything is constructive and I take all of your thoughts and comments into account. I would like to first talk about the issue involved with Dylan. I would like to stress that there is nothing remotely strange about what he has chosen to do here. Dylan wanted to back 4 bricks and did not realise that you could just add the money onto your first pledge so instead he created 4 separate accounts and sent me a message when he did it to explain. Here it is -
http://prntscr.com/3ko861" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; -
I am sorry I couldn't address this sooner as I know this could be perceived as somewhat sketchy and that it can make ones head spin in circles trying to work it out but it really is that simple.
Now about me and the project. There is nothing I am hiding here and scamming anybody is completely out of the question. I am 15 years old, I spent 8 months working on this project because I love the idea of having my own deck. I put it on Kickstarter and asked for the minimum amount I needed to cover all my costs, no less, no more. I use Kickstarter all the time to back other projects and have connected my public Facebook profile to avoid people thinking this is any type of scam. You will have to take my word on this matter.
In terms of the sudden jump. A lot of this was actually pledged by a good friend at Pure Imagination Projects in the hope of selling them after. He believes in the project and has followed it since the beginning. It is very generous and I really cannot thank him enough.
I hope this answers most of the questions /issues in this thread and in messages and comments I have received outside of it. I have posted this on here and also on The Discourse as there is a similar thread going on over there. If you have any more questions or comments please don't be afraid to ask and I will try and get back to you ASAP.
Thanks so much,
Benji
