Suggestion or help about how to add images

Hello,

I use two possibilities to add an image in my posts :

• [img] for external images ;
• [attachment=i] when i attach my own images to the posts.

It seems i can use [ucimg] but i don't know how to do.

When we use [attachement=i], sometimes, a "lift" (english direct translate of the word use in french) appears beside the image which is partially print on screen :

I don't have this problem with [img] (for the moment)

How could I attache an image without that lift ?

lolo, i havent experienece it myself, but i think it might have to do with the ratio. However if you were to click on the image itself, the image expands and gets rid of the scroll bar.

Any ideas joe ?

The stylesheet setting put in the scrollbar for anything over 350 pixels tall.

I can change this if you like...

[UCIMG] does the same as [IMG] but intelligently resizes the image for you (clicking will open it up full size in new window)

Joe i think lolo was refering to when we upload an attachment instead of a image link

Me too. You get the scroll bar if it is taller than 350px.

whoops my bad, i think the scrollbar is unnecessary though, or maybe just increase the height limit to sth taller

I uppded it to 600px like the ucimg. Hopefully they should display a bit better.

Could I suggest an automatic resize of displayed images (attachement, img or ucimg) whatever the original size is and a full display on another windows when you clic on it ?

This could normalize the images displayed on every posts (for the images size above the height and/or width limit). Then, you can force the size of images on device (mobile or not) on wich we read the forum...

Not with attachments - they are a bit trickier - but I'll have a go

Although you could do this as a workaround:

You can get the ID from the attachment URL link when you upload the picture:



Unfortunately, any attachments not placed inline will be displayed anyway. I'll have a think over the weekend.

Hi lolo - I found the code for attached images - and they should act the same way as [UCIMG] now - they should resize (to a max of 800x600) and open a new window to a full sized image when clicked.

Let me know if they don't though!
