An Enquiry about Custom Decks

So I have been thinking lately about how to define a custom deck of cards and I thought it would be nice to hear some input. These are some questions I have about customization -
a. What is the minimum amount of customization required to call a deck an actual custom deck?
b. How much artwork is needed for the courts to be considered 'custom'?
c. If a deck has custom (or at least mostly custom) pips but only recoloured or retouched courts, and vice versa, can it still be considered custom?
Also, can Arrco faces be considered custom?
Thanks

Your topic stands as general questions. If they're leading to some deck you're working on, I'll move it to the appropriate thread once some drafts have been shown. Please refrain from posting this in the New and Custom forum.
Thanks!

Hey no problem. Back to your questions:
I think that a custom deck breaks from the norm. Recoloring is exactly that, nothing custom about it. Anything that doesn't look like a color filter has been applied to a generic deck of cards is custom in my book. UUSI Bohemia decks are a good example of fully custom. Every element redrawn from the ground up.

I would say that any deck that isn't a mass-produced standard deck with any unique artwork on it, is within the class of "custom decks". That makes it a very broad definition, just like "limited" can be said to describe any product that isn't "unlimited" (ie decks that are continually reprinted).
However, in here we have come to use the term "fully custom". Which means that all the artwork on the deck is unique. Kind of sad that we don't have any terms for decks of varying degrees of customization, but that's how it is.

Well to me, anything that is a modification of the existing standard courts (arrco or not) would not be fully custom in my eye. Fully custom is what i go for nowadays !

But if a deck (for example, the Majestic by Elite Cards) has completely custom pips but slightly-mostly modified court cards (design-wise and colour-wise), would you consider it fully custom or at least mostly custom?

No. The actual artwork for the courts are standard, they've just tweaked it.
Making custom pips isn't exactly hard. Designing custom courts is. As many different opinions of the Elite decks people might have, I think we can all agree that they're not spending
a lot of money on the artwork.
