Zenneth, I understand that this deck follows a different concept than usual but I have to say that for me, it falls short of the usual elegance you've created in the past. Even though it's an interesting idea, the bottom line is the playing card back and tuck box (2 of the biggest design factors of a deck IMO) are simply a question mark. I know it's supposed to be "simple" but this one's just a little too simple for me.

Zenneth, show us more so we can have more to discuss, so far ive seen the card backs and boxes. Im not put off by the simple back design, but because the back is simple i expect alot more from the fronts.

I know this is going to be a controversy deck in a sense that it is too simple, but I think each deck is designed for a certain purpose or to illustrate certain concepts.
In the case of Question deck, we want to create a deck that serves magicians well...a deck that projects Mystery and Suspense, so hopefully will make card magic effects a little bit stronger...
At the end of the day it really comes down to whether you like the concept or not, if you don't, then you probably won't remotely consider the possibility of buying it,
or if you do like it a lot...like certain attendants of our offline gatherings, they buy bricks of them...
so...yeah..people's reactions have been quite extreme with this deck...

I guess i can see your target market for these decks, i dont think many collectors will go for this deck due to its simplicity. Magicians on the other hand might find it useful to have such a design. I hope theres more in the pipeline for collectors then !

All decks have certain purposes it fits and certain target demographics that it will work better for. I can certainly see this as a good staple magician's deck, which means it won't be as attractive to collectors.
As we have discussed in other threads, many of us collectors are becoming more and more critical of which decks we buy, and I am past the point where I even pass on good decks that I like simply because there's too many of them. Like this one, where I like the simplicity but it's just not enough to earn a spot in my collection.
In any case, I know Zenneth will make more great designs in the future

Are you seriously not going to post any pics of face cards? Ridiculous to expect anyone to buy that sight unseen.

Is it really necessary if they're all standard?

Thanks for the confidence =)
I have hinted an intricate back design on my instagram on the very first day of year 2014, I am quite sure that one will be much more appealing to collectors.

Was that ever confirmed? I think not showing them allows people to think they aren't standard and might buy them. At least a statement saying they are standard but yes, I do think all decks should show off the courts, pips, etc. no matter what.

I have to agree with that. Although if anyone expects courts that aren't showed to be custom, they're pretty naive

Hoping the glass is half-full isn't the same as
expecting it to be

Hello,
I received this day a few decks, with no multimedia way to show you what I received.
There are two jokers, two cards face white, and short cards are the standard bicycle.
So just back are customs.

I do understand that standard card faces are less appealing to collectors, but The Question deck is primarily designed for working magicians, therefore we have to keep the face and courts standard in order to facilitate the deck compatible with standard gaff cards.
I have been using The Question deck in my shows, it does what I want it to accomplish very well. The tuck case works almost like a name tag. I complete the phrase on the tuck case as: I live my dream therefore I am Zenneth Kok.
Before the commencement of my performance, I would bring out the deck and draw spectator's attention to the phrase, so they can see my name and start calling me Zenneth instead of "magician" or "magic guy".
