Will a product licence be required by the USArmy for this deck? Better check it out before going public on this...

Product and use licenses are absolutely necessary for all of these decks. I have already secured and all the necessary licenses for all 5 branches.
Re: United States ARMY deck - by Jackson Robinson / Kings Wi
Outstanding...wouldn't want anything to stand in the way of this beautiful deck's release.

I wish there was a Bicycle brand of the black deck. All these look good so it depends on if these are just tuck swaps, etc.

Love what I see so far!!Each version features a unique back design, Ace of Spades and Joker. The Premium and Limited version come with a Gold Foil seal featuring the lone single Star the Army has become remembered for.
This project will be available via Kickstarter on August 30th.
and by the way:
Always one step ahead... Can't wait for these..The last of the designs is the Limited Edition Army deck, a stunning black on black embossed tuck box with Gold Foil accents. A “Display” box version will also be available of the Limited Edition deck.

I wonder what's the appeal outside of the US. Because I personally am not interested in these, especially if they are going to feature specific American army personnel.

Good point. Maybe just the brand and artist. I for one served is the US Army as did my father and both grandfathers. Needless to say I will be pledging for these.volantangel wrote:I wonder what's the appeal outside of the US. Re: United States ARMY deck - by Jackson Robinson / Kings Wi
I think that US market is large enough for Jackson to sell a few decks. ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Re: United States ARMY deck - by Jackson Robinson / Kings Wi
I would love to say that I'm in but I'm holding my breath until I see the pricing. Which would've been nice if Jack$on came here and posted it ahead of time like he used to. But it might almost be "better" if he doesn't come on this thread. If so, it will just mean he's done with us. If he does post on this thread, he remains a coward who avoided answering for the Tally-Ho/ Hive fiasco (I guess fiasco isn't the best word but you catch my drift) and is simply plugging a new product. Dispite the sour taste left in my mouth these decks are gorgeous.

Probably, but so far they don't appeal to me (expat American) and I won't be buying. 3rd KW release in a row after previously getting everything released and then some (coins, uncuts)Lotrek wrote:I think that US market is large enough for Jackson to sell a few decks.

We obviously don't have an idea of pricing yet since Jack$son doesn't come around anymorevasta41 wrote:I would love to say that I'm in but I'm holding my breath until I see the pricing.

KS is obviously geared towards the mass market where the average person wouldn't even consider paying $10+ for a deck when they can get a deck of Rider Backs for only a couple of dollars if they ever need playing cards, so that seems to temper his KS pricing to a degree. King$Wild is geared more specifically for custom deck collectors and hard-core Jack$on fanboys so he thinks he can squeeze $20 per deck out of this particular demographic, and he (over)prices accordingly.

Actually his last KS project, the average price of a deck was $23.75 per deck if you did the 4 deck pledge with limited or $23.15 per deck if you did the 8 decks pledge. I remember they went very fast also

Very interesting indeed- especially when he said this last October:sinjin7 wrote:Gareth wrote:Now we just need pricing.... ... And this last November:JacksonRobinson wrote:I will def be doing the Kings Wild Deck for sure next year some time. I have one or two concepts I'm working on that I think will be killer, that I hope to release in spring of next year. I would really like to get off of kickstarter and do a preorder model directly on my website. That will depend on the fan-base I can build over the next few projects.
Going back to KS again. Is he self sufficient? I wonder...JacksonRobinson wrote:I'm already planning my first deck that will be done 100% on my website and off of Kickstarter some time in the spring. Will i get the volume? Absolutely NOT but I will be self sufficient and not dependent on KS to see if my Playing card company will stand on its own.

Re: United States ARMY deck - by Jackson Robinson / Kings Wi
Believe he also stated somewhere that he'd go to KS for this to capture the larger market that KS offers. It's good that he's got KW funded going but something like this needs to reach as many people as possible. He'll I'd almost have preferred Bicycle pick these designs up and release them like the Civil War deck.
I was an Army brat, father was a Lt Col, grandfather served in Army in WWII, brother served as well and I have many friends that either served or still are in the Army as well. This will probably be the first time I go for more than just a few decks, planning on at least a brick if not more of the unlimited sand will grab some limited for my collection and maybe father or real close friends. Talk about great presents or even contributions to a care package. I know cards are already received well, these are sure to raise some morale.
What would be really nice (though I seriously doubt it would happen) is if some of the proceeds were donated to Veteran Organizations.
Edit to add, I just asked over at PCF if he'd donate some proceeds to veteran orgs, hopefully he does (and without upping prices).

I pledged at the SL22 level for The Independence. The average price per deck I ended up paying is $15.42, including shipping.badpete69 wrote:Actually his last KS project, the average price of a deck was $23.75 per deck if you did the 4 deck pledge with limited or $23.15 per deck if you did the 8 decks pledge. Not quite sure how you do your math. You get 8 decks for $185. Lat time I looked 185/8 is 23.12 a deck? Am I missing something

The display decks, one for every LE.
So that would be:
- 2 Crown LE
- 2 Continental LE
- 2 Crown Display Decks
- 2 Continental Display Decks
- 2 Crown Standard
- 2 Continental Standard
12 decks total.
$185/12=$15.42

Re: United States ARMY deck - by Jackson Robinson / Kings Wi
You should not count the display decks Sher and I am not. These came way after both pledge levels of the limited were long sold out. People were ready to pay over $23 a deck and those display decks are just an added bonus after the fact. Yes it is a cool bonus but the initial point was about what we are willing to pay. I could do 100 deck add-on and average my cost down . Just talking what you get in a pledge
EDIT.. But in the end, this KS made me notice that the decks were indeed going up in price to to the point I was considering doing 1 deck of each instead of 2. The Army decks most likely will be priced similar and who knows we might get display decks there too

In the end going back to the Army deck, I have a feeling they will be similarly priced to the independence but time will tell I guess

I believe the Kardify article stated that the LEs will also include display decks. Nice touch. Will probably back because I think they look fantastic.
