Normally I would have put this directly on the active list without starting a thread but I know some do like simplistic decks

They look like flash cards I use for my 5yo daughter. PASS.

I didn't read the project's description, but does it give a reason why the Queen represents two suits, the Jack four and the King only one? I'm with sqratch, these are a definitive pass.

Looks like there is a game associated with the deck...that might explain the weird suits

I think I'm going to start a kickstarter for the ultimate minimalist deck with white on white printing. LE black on black deck.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw the backs for the two Limited Editions. Besides, the non-limited deck won't work for poker or anything else but the accompanying game. I'm all for new directions, but - you have to consider the main reason for the deck of cards.

It's going to be a busy week with UUSI launching their next deck by Sunday (that was my interpretation - your mileage may vary).

I'm keeping my tokens, pass for me...

This guy is saying he's gonna do three decks. One is the custom deck for the specific game. Courts are not suited and it uses 54 cards. The second is "like" a regular deck, but all black. The third is the same as the second deck, but white instead of black.

Honestly I do like the minimalist design, and for some reason I like this design better than Metropol (the courts,as spare as they are, are easier to recognize than what Metropol did). But the cards are fatally one-way. In other words, every player at the table would have to turn the cards right side up just to see what's in their hand. Sadly that's a complete non-starter.

The one-color backs, without even a border, are pretty bad too. And no idea whether his pip cards will have both the number and the suit in the index.

Pass, but hoping that he figures out that cards have to have real indices on at least two corners.

Dear sir,

Despite my predilection for collecting, I will not be pledging for this deck.
However, I must thank you for your attempt at acquiring my hard earned cash...

...It was refreshing.

Sincerely,
Sharpie

You'll use this deck to teach children how to learn a few colors and count to ten. This looks like something I could make up from home.

Isn't there a monochromatic deck out already?

Why have cards at all? Shoot for the moon and just have an empty tuck box. In the LE edition you get rid of the box.

By the way, the project creator fixed the regular decks so now the fronts are two-way. That is: indices on both sides. That's great and I would be a backer ... but for one thing:

I only want the white deck. I don't want the thrones deck--useless to me. And the black deck, just not my cup of tea. As it were.

Unfortunately, to get the white deck, you have to pledge for all three decks ... $40.

REALLY???

C'mon man.

This is my favorite ever minimalist deck, and the guy is holding me up for $40 to get it. Not very minimalist. MAN i hate that.

I'm not gonna pledge ... but I hope he makes it ... and I hope I can snag a white deck off'a eBay when they're out.

I like 'em. Interesting that the amazon site says they are "available in black or white". I've seen red ones like that, have both actually. Those are the heavy ("PVC"?) cards that weight about double - if not more - than a standard deck.
