We had the privilege this morning of being teased with a new deck of playing cards from Uusi (Blue Blood, Bohemia, and Royal Optik) and have to say they might be our new favorite. We were intrigued and can't wait to see them finished.
The conceptual thinking, and level of hand-painted detail Peter and Linnea put into their cards is amazing. What they create is art, and we're honored to offer their playing cards on Art of Play.

Were they talking about BB Redux? Or is this the most frustratingly vague teaser ever?
Not surprising, they said they were doing a series of playing cards, I forget what the planned number was but 6 rings a bell. Also that the Blue Blood Redux was not part of the series but rather an answer to people that were not able to get the original deck.
That said, I can't wait to see what they roll out next!
Yes - 6 it was. That's part of the reason I plumped for the wood brick pledge for Blubloods redux. I figured if the final 3 projects follow the first 3 they'll have a colour variation / limited deck for 12 decks in total and that just happens to fill up a brick box nicely!
(If anyone missed BB Redux I'll have 10 or 11 available for grabs.)
I've goten every one of Uusi's decks, and I can't wait for the 4th deck in the series. Given the success they've had, I can't believe they'd stop at 6. What if we had an Uusi/Jackson Robinson collaberation? My head would explode!

I almost did this, but what I really want is the Friends of the Family collectors box from the Optik Campaign. Also holds 12 decks
If anyone is willing to trade/sell one of these to me (or the 2 deck case), I have many fine things to offer. Hit me up

They planned to stop at six because that was the number of different art styles they'd planned out - no recolored rehashes here!
Also, by the time the sixth deck is out, they'll have been doing them for three years. They may want to move on to other things; hard as it may be to believe, not everyone's world revolves around cards!

I went in on one of these FotF boxes and can't wait to get it. It's beautiful enough on its own, but with the backstory and the fact that it's actually made of old growth redwood, I can't imagine anyone parting with theirs.
They seem to include different designs every now and again, and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see these (or something like them) appear in some future project.
So I'd guess there's definitely a good chance for you to snag one straight from the source at some point!
Just wanted to say thanks for all the great feedback so far! Also wanted to post a RGB version of the queen, as RGB shows much more true to color on the web. The originally posted image was a CMYK jpg. and was looking way too green. We're super excited about coming out with this deck and will be posting more images in the coming weeks.
Thanks, Emmanuel! And no, it's not inspired by Kitsune, but love that reference! Our deck is in the same vein as that, but its more our interpretation of early Central & Northern Europe Pagan Era – hence the title of the deck, "Pagan".

Love the theme... cant wait to see the Green Man or Hurn... I might have to pick up a few of these as gifts - my brother and his wife follow modern Paganism...
Just wanted to give you guys an update on the Pagan deck and post a new pic of the card backs and also the Jack of Spades. Aside from all the artwork on the court cards and pips being hand painted in oil, the card back design was also completely hand painted by Linnea. Just a heads up for those interested, we are planing on launching the deck on KS in the third week of November if all goes according to plan. And yes, borderless backs this time... we have been wnating to use them on one of our decks and feel they work really well on the Pagan deck - hope you do too!
You know... Santa usually delivers me nice things for the Holidays!! However... what he delivers appears to be the exact financial amounts that magically disappear from my bank account!! Fantastic work again from the UUSI crew!!

Popped on the dark uncut. Seriously great artwork here I dare say this is the best looking uusi deck yet. Great job you two!
BTW - I assume we will be able to but will there be an add-on guide made available and will we be able to buy additional light and dark decks? 1 of each just won't cut it.
