The court cards are cool, but man! Those pip cards are just creepy. The layout looks kinda like the Foto Grafis deck's pips. Is this a new trend, or have there been decks designed this way? Can't say I'm a fan.

I think they could have benefited from a Movember tie-in, if they had put it up on Kickstarter earlier.

Looks like the Courts are going to be different, but the pips may stay the same on all the suits. Can't say that I like the number of pips horizontally across the top of the card. Basically, he made the pips into court cards. Go Green save some ink....

The coins are the best part of this campaign, the campaign looks well done, but the cards just don't wow me. I don't like the bike logo on the tuck and the number cards are just bad. Hopefully that's not the new trend of how number cards are to be designed.

Putting aside the theme and actual art for just a second....

It is encouraging to see another KS project where the designers have taken the time to actually complete their design  before starting the campaign.

And it seems like they might even have done some research into the printing and talked to USPCC already, too... (though their goal might still be a touch low?)

So, kudos for that! :D

That said, i actually think this is a fun theme, and i like the way they interpreted it better than Vanda's take. I'm In for an early bird! 8-)

Only 16 days left. I hope this one makes it. Love the tuck, love that COIN!

The cards are ok, the dealer button and coin are cool. But I refuse to pay the crazy shipping prices unless I'm in love with a deck. Shipping charges to Canada are forcing me to reconsider collecting cards.

Someone must have had luck getting the word out for this deck, they had a pretty nice surge and have hit their goal. And before the 48hr notices go out too. Looking forward to seeing the decks and those awesome coins in person. :D

I think most of it is CBJ's money. He really wants that coin.

I haven't pledged for it.

hmmm this surge seems odd

My bad. Your previous comment led me to believe you were a backer.

No problem. I rarely back projects anymore.
The last couple I've backed was the Bicycle Oracle, and the Holmes decks

I find that most times the KS decks are a better price for international buyers in the aftermarket.

A recent example of this is the Bicycle Platinum deck

1 deck = $19 for international including shipping during the KS ($10+$9 shipping)

1 deck = $6 at penguin magic right now, and I can combine it with other stuff

That's a huge difference

I'm not backing this project, entirely because the theme is of zero interest to me. But the design aesthetic? The sense of humor and whimsy? Right up my alley. I very much look forward to future projects from this creator (or his team, if he's working with others). Wishing everybody a successful conclusion to this project, and looking forward to the next.

Yeah that surge was very odd. I was debating pulling my single deck pledge yesterday...Think I will and just wait for it on the secondary market

I was intrigued by the surge as well, went on to kicktraq to see what was going on, it seems like theres is a big jump in number of backers rather than just surges in funds, makes the whole thing more legit. perhaps they got a good advert going on to the correct target market.

That was the only way to have a surge due to the low pledge levels. I am sure many new accounts were created I bet if you check you will see many with that project only backed

It is. I starred the project and watched its progress for a while and thought it wouldn't make it. I'm curious to know how it drew so many new pledges. Was it a featured Kickstarter on the front page or something?

I sent him a message, and he messaged me back

"Hey, brother! Well, I spent an entire day simply promoting it! I now have 1500+ shares on facebook

Plus, a huge retailer (Gamblers General Store) in Vegas wrote me and said they loved the deck design and bought 150 to stock in their store. He said he want more too. Little elbow grease went a long way"

Congrats Scott on a successful project!

Don't think I like the cards that much. But I want the box and the coins.
