Hi everyone,
I hope you are all keeping well
For those who had an interest in my first project, Imported Playing Cards, or who enjoyed the retro styling of the 2023 Vintage Copperhead deck from Legends, and maybe wanted to see a bit more of my work or where I would take things from here, I would like you to know that I have just completed work on my next 2x decks, planned for a late July Kickstarter, and that I have just created a Patreon page to offer early access to all my playing card artwork and to offer Patreon exclusive deck/s to the top 2 membership tiers.
https://www.patreon.com/ahplayingcards
Please head over and take a look if it is something that interests you, or if you enjoy closely observed vintage and classic style playing card art, or if you are just morbidly curious... or for any reason at all really. Any support is gratefully received.
Thanks for stopping by and I will return shortly with full details of my new project and upcoming Kickstarter campaign as aforementioned.
Cheers !

Members of all levels can now vote for the theme of our year 1 custom deck. The deck will be hand-illustrated in a vintage style and members will get the opportunity to view, engage with and vote for the direction in which various aspects of the deck design will go, choose between different concepts and pieces of artwork in polls, offer feedback etc. This will be a serious project resulting in a high quality deck of custom playing cards in a similar style to Imported and Legends Copperhead Vintage Edition which will then be sent to Patrons of the Diamonds and Spades tiers and with members of all tiers then offered first refusal to purchase from a small batch of decks.
https://www.patreon.com/ahplayingcards
I will not keep coming back to bump the thread, I'm just going to leave it at this for those who are interested. Joining as a member is free and enables you to vote in the poll and keep an eye on occasional updates if this is something that you might want to get involved with now or a little further down the line. Our lowest paid membership level is Hearts at $3 (USD) /month and enables full access to all posts and a discount code for our online store. Details of all membership tiers can be perused below or on our Patreon page.
All your interest and support is appreciated and I will be back with details of my latest (fully finished) decks and upcoming Kickstarter campaign soon.
Take care and thanks for reading,
Alex

The polls have just gone up giving members the chance to vote for which direction the Year 1 deck goes in, they close on 23rd August.
In case anyone was interested in seeing more of our work after our successful KS campaign earlier this month. Now is the time to jump in as a free Patreon member to get a chance to vote in the polls and to receive notifications, with the option to upgrade at a later date, or of course go ahead and join a paid tier if you'd rather
Thank you all again and I will be back soon to bother you with more new projects that are already in the works, including one we hope to release or Kickstart in October.

Cheers!

Ah thanks Captain, appreciated
I've just uploaded a time lapse video showing the drawing of the Y1 reward deck tuckbox from start to finish if anybody is interested in checking it out, a lot of work went into it and I think some of you might enjoy the format, which is new for me. Free 7-day trials are currently activated on some of the paid tiers for anyone who wants to get a look into what we're going to be doing for year 1 and isn't yet sure about joining as a paid member, maybe we can tempt you! We have lots going on and lots in the works, as you will see.

- The Patron themed art print - not the tuck
Thanks

I really like this design and the way the various elements break out from the frame. Enjoyed the time-lapse video on Patreon too!

Love these courts. Great work. I wish you would have used something similar on your previous decks. I'm looking forward to more.

Alex, what was your contribution to Copperhead?

Thanks everyone for the feedback! Glad people are enjoying the art style, I will make sure I post more bits n pieces as the development of the deck progresses, and of course, if you want to see everything I put out and/or want a copy of the deck as a reward, head on across to our Patreon for all the info
I'm certainly pushing the envelope a bit more with these fully custom hand-illustrated Courts and I like where things are heading.
Honeybee - I did the design & illustration for the red 2023 Copperheads, with direction & input from Legends (it's their deck). Do you like them?
Cheers!

Nice
I like the copperheads - they should have let you get your hands on the courts as well

They look good Alex - you certainly improved the back and as G said, Legends decision to not have you modify the Courts is the only thing holding them back

You need to add Alex's red deck Harvs
I think his back design compliments the centre circle much more than the original

I'd agree again but except for politics, I don't feel red that much, so I'll have to pass until they release a blue version.

red and blue can look akin in the right light, at an angle, squinting perhaps if it's difficult to see.

KoH has the same impression I have seeing Bicycle standard courts.
@A. Haines - I kinda dislike that your posts push me more and more towards your patreon, haha.

An additional custom deck has just been announced and added to year 1 rewards, in case that tips anyone's interest... it is planned to be an antique restoration of a classic standard style deck.
Hope to see some more of you over on Patreon!
Cheers
