Childhood Standard Edition
Crafted from specialty paper, the box is surrounded by dense foliage, and just holding it in your hand gives a texture feedback akin to being in nature's embrace.
In "Alice in Wonderland," the Card Soldiers are most strongly associated with playing cards, thus we've made them a primary design element. The cards feature oversized indices but still retain the classic element of suit symbols directly added to the card corners, mounted on wooden figures.

Specialty paper card box
52 standard playing cards + 2 jokers + 2 special cards
Fully hand-drawn illustrations
Childhood Special Edition
As a special edition of childhood playing cards, we've incorporated elements of the Cheshire Cat. Reflecting its elusive abilities, we've utilized Mirage Grating material for the construction of the card box to embody the Cheshire Cat's characteristic traits.
From different angles, you can either see a complete Cheshire Cat or just its iconic grin.
We've used the Cheshire Cat's iconic grin in the card back design, while also including a full-body image of the Cheshire Cat as a special card.
We're particularly fond of the Cheshire Cat's elusive abilities, so much so that we've included an extra Easter egg in the special edition, waiting for lucky individuals to discover when they open the card box.

Childhood Half-Brick
A storage box crafted from pearl paper, featuring a prominent design of the Card Soldiers on the front.
Inside, there are 5 decks of the Standard Edition and 1 deck of the upgraded gilded Special Edition, limited to 300 sets. The upgraded gilded Special Edition features the iconic grin of the Cheshire Cat on the card back, along with a full-body image of the Cheshire Cat as a special card. An Easter egg is also included.
Additionally, themed DIY stickers are included, allowing you to create your favorite Card Soldiers image with the stickers.

I like how the decks incorporate Alice in the Wonderland
And… slightly bummed that they always make the gilded locked in the half brick

Hmmm I see a pattern here:
You use Kickstarter to establish your brand, and then next onwards, you release it on webstore

That's how it is for many things, not just limited to playing cards.

Valid points though!
Since in Kickstarter, all the money pooled in, they kept it for two weeks, and then forwarded to you: with a caveat of a few percent given to them for using their platform
On webstore, no such losses happening.

Using code CHILDHOOD will get you 10% off, making the standard deck $7.65 instead of $8.50. It's $25.65 if you want the better tuck, as you can't get it without the bundle.
Still better than Kickstarter.

I actually like the Cheshire Cat, which is what pulls me towards that deck, but not at that price unfortunately.
It hasn't been released yet, so they're marked as sold out for the time being. May 5th at 10am EST.

It's $25 for 2 decks after the discount. That's a pretty good deal. What about that price are you objecting to?

I don't want two decks. I just want the one. So to me, it comes out to having to pay $25 just to get the one deck I want. I don't love it
that much to pay $25 for it.
Classic upselling.

It worse than that for me, I want the gilded deck, for which you have to buy *6* decks, I dont have any use for 4 of them at all.
I could have stomached the 2.

Well, as much of a pain as the half brick to get the gilded might be, price was still reasonable enough for me to talk myself into (avg cost 9 bucks a deck with shipping included).
I will likely give away a few of the standards, tossing such a thing into a shipping box is always nice.
Not a huge fan of the white space, but the faces on the card bodies sold me.

Sadness. I missed the Cheshire Cat. I even set my alarm and everything but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Got the standard edition and that's got to be good enough for me.

That made my decision-making process much easier, but I have a hard time believing they had all 700 available for sale. I guess we'll see if they show up in the future.

That cat has a habit of turning up - so I bet you will find it on the secondary, of if Kevork is correct, back at the primary in the future

“Deep-six”
Marketing strategy whereby a limited deck is only available in half brick of standards.

I‘m actually very much into the standards and since I use my cards I had no problems justifying getting the half-brick box.

Do you play a lot of card games or do you use them for cardistry and/or magic?

Here's a write-up I did about these, along with pictures:
Childhood Playing Cards by TCC & Lunzi
https://tccplayingcard.com/products/chi ... -tcc-lunzi
A playing card army inspired by Alice in Wonderland
The debut project of the "Smooth Writing" series was called
Room52 Playing Cards. Produced by TCC Playing Cards, it is the work of Lunzi, who is a card flourisher and the lead illustrator of the luxury brand ARK Playing Cards. Now Lunzi has released his second project, called
Childhood Playing Cards.
It's inspired by Lewis Carroll's classic work Alice in Wonderland, with Lunzi opting to make the playing card soldiers from the story a central aspect of the design. All the illustrations have been drawn by hand.
Besides the main deck, dubbed the Childhood Standard Edition, there is also a Childhood Special Edition, which is limited to just 700 decks.
The Special Edition's tuck box draws on the Cheshire Cat, and is made with what TCC describes as "Mirage Grating material". The basic idea is that depending on the angle you look at the deck, you'll either see the Cheshire Cat or just its grin. You can see what this visual effect looks like in
this video.
The Cheshire Cat's grin also features on the card backs of the Special Edition.
Purchases of a half brick (6 decks) include with an
upgraded Special Edition, which is limited to just 300 decks, and has gilded edges.
These two decks are a delightful way to pay tribute to a true classic of children's literature!
