i dont know how much the paper used for a tuck affects price but i cant imagine it would too much to not be worth it for a tuck that otherwise has most all of the standard ''luxury'' features. despite the use of foil, this tuck still looks and gives the feel of really cheap. this glossy stock is a big miss for this deck. not only does the glossy texture look bad but since the paper is white and has a black face, printed or otherwise, the edges of the paper where it is cut are white and looks really bad with the overall black color of the tuck. it doesnt need to be some super expensive handmade pearlescent stock but at least a relatively inexpensive black matte stock would do. for a new deck, you can already see the edges chipping or where the black looks rubbed off.

the foil is also not great as far as... accuracy, intricacy, precision? you can see many keys that have no separation from themselves or the border.

even if this were a bochiero tuck i still would not buy it as i dont really care about elton john, but this just looks like pretty bad quality. especially when it is going for about the standard price of $15.

It would have been cool if some of the court cards would have been characters from his songs....Rocket Man, Island Girl, etc.

I really want to like these. The subject is near and dear to my heart as I grew up loving most of Elton's music. This deck doesn't hold a candle (in the wind) to the Elvis deck T11 did recently. A deck for Sir Elton should have that kind of over-the-top flair and then some.

I gotta admit that my expectations are pretty low when I read Bicycle. When we're honest the best Bicycle decks are the ones done as part of a nice project when the producer wants to have a Bicycle version as well. Federal52 and alike. There never has been a great Bicycle alone project.

I know you are talking about the whole deck and your dislike of standard courts is probably a big factor in this statement Harv but as a backs man there are some excellent (old) bicycle backs IMO. I do however like simple and patterns and do not need foils

@Honeybee don't confuse me with STL, I don't disregard standard courts per se. But I have enough standard court decks already so, the back would really have to be something to make me buy.

Not at all, hue hue hue. It's just that we have different stances on standard courts. While you're indeed in the standard courts or slightly modified are always meh camp, I'm simply not. I just wanted to clarify that.
