1 deck, 50 variants.

Inspired by the process of generative art, over a thousand outputs (back designs) were randomly generated using p5js code. Each output is coded to be a composition of four rectangles and belongs to one of five color palettes.

We went through each of these outputs and hand-picked 50 of them to form the 50 Variants.

Each deck of Variants includes 51 of the same card.

Ok, this is really cool. For anyone not familiar with p5js, it is NOT the same as all the AI art we've been seeing recently. Someone had to actually create the designs, with code, and decide which variables would be randomized (layout, colors, etc.). It is a much more manual and creative process, and does not rely on models trained on other people's art.

From a video on their instagram, it looks like it does not have traditional faces. All the cards are the same.

I don't see anything inherently wrong with that. That's kind of the point of generative art like this—introducing a bit of randomness into the process, making each piece unique.

Of course things like pricing will determine if I will personally partake.

If you can be as fast as Flash to be the first 12 to order a brick, you can get a 50 card pack that shows all of the design instead of a one-card with the 50 thumbnails

There's no doubt - this is like "Unbroken" by Seasons, only that these are for hype cardistry

Variant Playing Cards. 03.02 12pm ET (03.03 1am UTC+8). Collection of 1250. Each variant is an edition of 25.

Orders of 12 decks or more will come with a custom brick box and a chance to win the Variant Uncut NFT. The first 12 of these orders will also come with an extra God Pack (pic 9), which includes one card of each of the 50 variants. This will be the only way to obtain a God Pack.

We will try to avoid repeats within each order when possible.

Early access and the chance to win a physical uncut of Variants will open up to NFT holders 24 hours prior to public release.

Still no word on price, but ugh... The NFT stuff makes me less interested.

Typically it is priced at $18, sooo…. A brick would be $216

LiH stuff is very good but since its Cardistry brand most deck are a pass for me as I am not into Cardistry and need pips and courts . Will be waiting for Lotus #04

Before this, I told Henry that.... when you got the Variant, you CAN'T see what you have because it got covered by the ad card showing the 20 colors used in all the 50 different backs. He was caught in between of selling the deck as it is, or he opened it and then let people choose the design (as he promised last time).

I'll be damned! He actually go through with the latter option XD

BRUH… this is probably the CRAZIEST thing LiH did since 1:51 Echo

Here: LiH deceived in two ways

Their post on IG reveals how the deck is gotta looked like, where we can see the many designs. We assume we right away can see what you get when the decks arrived. But, PSYCHED! All the decks reveal the adcard of the color patches - and you have to open them to see (luckily the cards are cellowrapped as well, so the cards remain pristine condition)
The biggest deception would be the Variant #51 - we are told these gotta be 1250 decks in total, with 25 for each variant, means 50 different decks. Then, HOW MANY is Variant #51?! So the print run number is an illusion - sort off a proof LiH MIGHT print more than they claimed.

Glad I got it, or else I might have to sell my kidneys to get one: as Cardvo is selling it for $650 and the auction of it on SoCal ended on $1020!!!

Honestly, as a person who's not super into cardistry decks cause my skills are terrible, whats the hype with these? Do they handle exceptionally well? If not from my standpoint, its 4 blocks of rectangles with different colors.

Like every other cardistry brands, I still don't understand the hype behind them. Could it be because the cardists of LiH are godlike, and people wanna get them to get the feel of that power. Or it could be because of the odd number of print runs they love doing, that getting them would be a "great investment". Till now, EVERY releases always sold out within minutes (like 5-6mins, could be longer if it was pricy, like Thermo Solid and Mint/Ultraviolet Normal), and it remains consistent till now - unlike Fontaine and A1 that had slowed down now.

And I can't elaborate on how good they handle, cuz, I am still SO NOOB compared to LiH performances, but magically the cards printed by Dex are straight up good out of the box. It has its own voodoo magic of cardistry, I suppose - that's why LiH always printed decks with them. The information on Dex Playing Cards is really hard to find: like it's IG account that just have no posts whatsoever, only we know it is in Taiwan. People keeps saying Dex is NOT THE SAME with TWPCC.

Like I said, the God Pack contains all of the 51 different Variants the deck has, which means, you get a frankendeck from the 51 diff decks. With it, you can pretend you got them all XD while in fact, you can simply just change what the window will show. And, somebody has to put them in P52, right? TMI: I’ve been putting LiH decks on P52 since Thermo Solid. It was fun haha, I get to fill info up and complete them all with pics
