I've been wanting to share this for a while, but I wasn't sure where it belonged. I'm putting it here (as opposed to New & Custom Decks) because its not a confirmed deck yet afaik (mods, feel free to move).

Artist Riley Sheehey has been painting over a random playing card every week, with the goal of doing all 52 by the end of the year. The original painted cards usually go on sale for $550 and sell out very quickly. She has mentioned selling prints in the future, but no mention of printing a full deck of cards yet.

I'll post pictures here, but I encourage you to check the process videos on her Instagram. It's very fun to see the transformation.

Yeah, seems like there is no print run or quantity limitation for the prints, so Riley can periodically restock. There's plenty of her artwork available as high quality giclee prints, which is nice.

A lot to like about that one. The semi-symmetry and the fact that at first glance you might think the reverse is a reflection in water

The latest 7 of clubs went for $650 - going to take a pretty nice card to get me to spring for that, though they seem to go before I am aware they exist anyway

Are the originals one offs?
I ask because the page has a - 1 + box as if you could order more than one

they are one offs, the quantity choice is just the way of the generic shopping cart

I am surprised to find myself on the fence about these but I think it is just the pics on the preorder page do not enhance them at all

I am ambivalent about the backs and would have much preferred them to be 2 way

I got 2 decks, so I can put them together and have 2 way backs. It works that way doesn’t it?

I'm surprised that I'm hesitant with purchasing this deck at the price it is set for. But it's unique and the artist put significant time and creative effort into it. I'll likely buy one.

$5, which is the price it would cost me if I wanted to ship one deck domestically in the US via USPS. I can likely even ship two decks at that price. Honestly, using pirateship is one of the best ways to ship in the US.

I'm in without hesitation.

£29 for shipping 2 decks, with the only option being DHL Worldwide Express. I'll have to pass, not making sense to me.

I just tried usps.com, my US zip code -> Strag (approx guess), International First Class (slowest-lowest cost), small package under 4lbs = $61.25. That can't be right.
