Hello UC! I’m doing a live stream on the 27th; the innagural Deal Me In podcast with Chamerbertin Cards (Aka Chris Moyer) and Chris Hage of Wondercraft Playing Cards. It will be a bi-weekly podcast where the three of us will discuss various topics in and around the industry. We hope you will join us. We'll have giveaways and be taking questions. Discussing new projects, updating existing ones and giving our top choices for deck of the year!
The stream will be on the Gentleman Wake youtube channel at 7pm Est time 12-27-2023.

Looking forward to it. Bi-weekly sounds perfect as I can barely keep up with weekly stuff.

I enjoyed the first episode! Any plans on releasing an audio-only version on all the normal podcast places (Apple Podcasts, RSS, etc.)?

I will certainly entertain that idea!

Definitely go for it Omar, if possible of course. I'd love to listen to some card talk while being on a long run.

Been really stunned to discover that the deal me in podcasts are only getting less than 300 views. Has interest in playing cards dwindled so much that only 250-300 people care to know what’s happening in the hobby? Very disheartening. The audience is t there like it used to be.

I couldn't even find it. I don't think it shows up under your videos. I had to pick the Live tab in the app to even see them

I can only speak for myself, but I don’t tend to listen to podcasts on YouTube. I’ve made an exception for Deal Me In, but i would find it easier to keep up with if it showed up in my podcast player with all my other podcasts. I hope you’re able to explore an audio-only feed. Putting it on Spotify and Apple Podcasts would only help with discovery I would imagine.

Just to give you my two cents @Omar:
It's not that I'm not interested but a) (and that is by far the biggest reason) the day only has 24h and b) I tend to dislike video conference podcasts. Face time is the limit of lag I can bare but seeing two or more people with lag kills me.

Live Caption made it accessible for me but I have to say 75mins is a long time to be following by Live Caption
ps I have only been around for a few minutes compared to most of you guys but like another of my interests (Australian Harness racing) - it seems to me that the custom card industry is in serious decline

I’m also surprised it’s not doing better than it is, I’ve enjoyed every episode so far. It definitely deserves to be doing better, and I do hope it doesn’t reflect declining interest in the hobby. It might just need a little more time and publicity. I would also like it being on my podcast app, that might help the reach.

I think it's visibility. Even with you mentioning it a few times I had to remind myself to tune in when the podcast started and it hasn't popped up on my feed. Some of the recuts of the last few episodes did show up for me.
But it is a pretty small niche, I looked at "the card guy" videos which is probably the first channel that popped up when I started searching for videos when I started collecting. Outside of a few "best of the year" type videos most of his stuff never really got over about 1.5k viewers.

Well originally the channel was about high quality production deck reviews and now it is a podcast for card geeks. I think it targets different segments of card lovers. It makes sense that detailed long format talking target smaller audience.

I think they should be easier to find on your TGW YouTube site
I don't think many people are going to think to look under the Live tab (especially after the event)

For the record, I love the show and I watch every episode... in pieces. If I have the ability to watch it live, then I will, all the way through. But if I can't, the lack of direct interaction makes things different. I think I'm starting to understand live-streaming haha. As far as recordings go, I'm with those who thoroughly prefer an audio-only option. Podcasting is the way to go for my daily commute and Deal Me In would be a welcome addition to my roster.

You're right Piazza that they are a little long for most of us to watch in one sitting - I even broke the latest Lorenzo interiview in two. Lorenzo took the show to a different level compared to previous interviews but possibly because I am following the captions, I find 75 minutes a tad too long

I don't do podcasts, even though I know they are popular in other arenas. I almost never watch any video that is more than 10 minutes long. I just don't have the time in a day to devote to more. And finally, as a collector I am much more interested in what I collect (the decks) than other aspects (creators, etc.). UC scratches my itch when I want to delve more.

Can't say anything about views or lack thereof this time around; you scheduled the show against the NCAA tournament!
Will watch the replay for sure tho. Henry is a great dude and is surely a solid interview.

Yet a great dude.
I hate podcasts that are via skype, zoom or alike but I'll give it a try when Henry is a part of it.
