Something I've been working on over the last year, sharing on Patreon and finally ready to begin sharing publicly. Coming soon. Beneath the Nazo Nazo, there is a scuttling world of whiskered mischiefs.

Inspired by Taoism, four mouse nests or mischiefs differ in their interpretation of the Whey. All so different, but all quite the same, too. The courts are as close as I might get to a traditional court card - inspired by more standard faces.

Thanks for sharing. I’m very excited to see this come to life. Culturae Animalis, Sensu and Nazo Nazo have been smashing successes in my mind.
Looking forward to seeing this develop and ultimately launch.

Are they royals with mouse on their shoulders OR mouse with paper -mache royals that resembles classic courts?

I decided to activate the pre-launch further in advance than usual, so the launch date still is not set in stone yet, but it's a chance to give all enough time to click to follow and share.

They are a marching caravan of mousy mischief - carrying emblems, banners, and effigies of heads that resemble classic royal courts.

i bought the Onsen version in the last campaign. the only JBP deck i own. while some of the courts here look pretty interesting, i am not convinced i need to own more than one JBP deck.

I kinda feel the same way. Having Culturæ Animalis, I always struggled to justify jumping on another project since artwise they are pretty similar.

I don’t find his decks similar - but love is blind, so I may not be the best person to ask…

to me they all have this cloisonne style with the kind of muted pastel color scheme and same animal theme.

He is an artist first, bringing his art/style to the decks, rather than blank slating each - and he doesn’t make very many - all works for me. Plenty of other deck makers doing the rest.
georgia o'keeffe didn’t paint picassos.

He has his own style , much like Gio does, but I don't find his decks to be similar. They've all been pretty unique to me. Though, he's one of my personal favorites, so I'm probably biased too.

I love the art but agree that the style is very similar -- I'm totally okay with that, though What I like most probably is that it's very much its own style and doesn't look like anything else in the playing card world

For me, it's also the incredible amount of detail, depth, and hidden elements put into his work that seems unparalleled.
Re: Jack Brutus Penny presents - Tails of Mischief
Correct. And I'm fine with having one Picasso and one Georgia O'Keeffe - although I would say that O'Keeffe has quite a broad spectrum of art styles in her body of work.

The more it tickles some the more likely to not tickle all I would say

I came to share a little more, but I saw the discussion going on and decided to hold of on that No shade intended at all, but I added the ace of spades as a random example (happy to share any other card) for all four decks I've been involved in over the last 5 years, and if I might be allowed to comment? I admit, I was surprised to see this discussion. I absolutely understand if anyone simply does not like my art or writing, and whilst I have my preferences of themes and tones like any artist, and my work is in fact all within the same universe and so intrinsically connected (there was a comment on artist comparison, but I would go further to say that Tolkien wouldn't add a space opera into the same universe) - I strive and am inspired to focus tonally on different themes and directions with each project. The Tails of Mischief, for instance, is a philosophical dive into Taoist beliefs on nature and order. But I respect all of your views and yes, I draw the way I draw and like natural and animal themes
