Bicycle Espionage - available now with uncuts (Club 808)

Unread post by CBJ »

A new deck coming this fall.

Info from Club 808...

"CLASSIFIED – FOR CLUB 808 MEMBERS ONLY

At 1200 hours on July 31, Club 808 intercepted a coded message from the Bicycle® Playing Cards HQ. The message regarded a highly classified new deck set for release this fall. The message seemed more like a riddle, and we translated it to look like this:

Image

The Rules:

1. Solve the riddle, and submit your answer via the form below. We will draw a winner randomly from the correct answers.

2. Submit your answer by August 29, 11:59PM EST. The winner will be notified by email the following day, and revealed with September’s Club 808 content.

3. For all official rules for Bicycle® Brand contests, click here.

The Prize: You’ll be the first to know the details of a top-secret, brand-new deck that will be revealed if you solve the riddle—and you’ll get the deck the day of its release."

I have to say, after spending the time to figure out the riddle myself, I'm not really happy to see the solution posted while the contest is still active.

Doesn't exactly take a NASA crew to figure it out, and I''m sure most of the members have solved it by now. But I'll have to agree it could've waited a few days. At least the answers.

Espy award, o as the vowel and swim in French is nage. This better be a good deck.

I agree. It's reminiscent of a secret agent-esque childrens' cartoon.

Oh, congrats and thanks, PrincessTrouble :D

Custom courts in the style of regular courts and with a well-executed theme?

Hopefully this should make up for the lackluster cards lately. I'm looking forward to this.

New pics from the Club808 article:

From an era of spies—sophisticated and silly, secretive and smarmy, scientific and spectacular—comes Bicycle® Espionage, a tribute to agents of all kinds.

We designed this deck with the concept of secrecy in mind. The back design features two layers of black ink, one matte, one gloss, so that you can only make out the design in the right light. It’s the same deal on the tuck, which is so exclusive, we can’t even show it yet—though we can tell you that it has an opening you’ll have to find yourself. The court cards each represent characters that work in secret, from a James Bond-esque character to a ninja agent.

Look for the uncut sheets in the next week, and decks on December 1.

The custom courts and pips look really nice. Almost uncut sheet worthy.......maybe.

Crap seems like every youtube video has annoying advertisement commercials. Thought I would post this so you can read future posts with a little music. Get you in the mood for the cards. Personally with the half suit and half indexes, It makes it harder to read the card. Maybe a bigger border would help. Jackson get in there and kick some butt...

Black and pink pips, custom courts, neat back design;

At last, a Club 808 deck I can be proud of to say 'I'm in!'

Seems like a lot of cards coming out with the half colored pips. Not a 808 member but I want these in my hands.

If you're in the US, it's easy enough for me to pick up extras to mail you. Expected release date is December 1st, but the Bicycle Club store hasn't always been good about listing decks on the exact date they promise… Drop me a PM if you'd like.

I'm 99% sure I remember reading somewhere that this deck is not exclusive to Club 808. I think this is to be a public release.

Yep, they posted them yesterday, and sent 808 club members a message last night. No decks, yet - probably on 1-December as previous suggested if they do the same pattern as they did with "Amber Stag". It is a Club 808 exclusive.

I'm not a fan of the childish looking back, but the custom courts is a great sign.

Maybe same picture, but here's the uncut.

I'll not digging the side open tuck but I'll get it anyway. For the uncut to be $9.99, seems very low. I thought most of them are at least $50 and over unless that's a KS thing.

That's an aftermarket thing. USPCC has their uncut sheets priced normally.

I guess we been spoiled too long with horizontal Bicycle logos. I hope that's not the only one. Makes me think of the look of the Black Book deck of Cards.

Yep, "fanatic", looks curiously similar to the "Bicycle Vertical" Limited Edition tuck/deck from "Black Book". hmmm... Awfully darned similar!

They made it a point to point out that they were the first to use a "sideways" Bicycle logo.

Email from Bicycle I just got says they're releasing the Espionage deck early so you can use your Black Friday 25% discount on it. Will be ordering some when they change it over from the place holder that's there now.
