Russian seller asking for gmail
Not sure what forum to ask this, but here goes. A seller in Russia has a deck I'd like to purchase. I've bought from him before without any problems - prior to Russia's attack on Ukraine. He has an established website and a wide presence on social media. For this purchase he told me sanctions were imposed on cash payments and an intermediary is necessary to receive money, then asked me to send him a gmail address to start the process (in the past he took payments through paypal without issues). It just sounds funny to me and I'd like to hear from more experienced buyers. Anyone else have experience since the war started with Russian sellers?

If we're talking about the same guy, I skipped the risk entirely by not buying from him.

Re: Russian seller asking for gmail
I had heard about Revolut, but they are also shut down to Russia - as are many others such as Wise…
“The following are some of the most popular money transfer services which no longer support transfers to Russia as of 2023:”
Revolut as of March 2022
Remitly as of February 2022
Wise as of February 2022
OFX
Western Union as of March 2022
MoneyGram as of March 2022
XE Money Transfer as of February 2022
This page has some details, not sure if discussed options are still valid, nor if they should be attempted: https://www.monito.com/en/wiki/how-to-s ... russia-now
USA: “It is not possible at the moment for you to send money to Russia from the USA. Case-by-case exceptions may be made if you contact the US State Department to send emergency transfers.”
UK: You can open an account with Profee if you have residency or a bank account in the EU, UK, or European Economic Area (EEA).
“Profee is the only money transfer provider currently available for money transfers to Russia.”
