I think these look pretty cool. They got the idea from their client, Theory11.

Seems to me it's more like a survey to gauge it's popularity and demand. I filled it up regardless. :)

I'm half expecting an email making fun of how gullible we were instead of an actual deck. Heh.

Well I already received a bulk email from them. Both Bicycle and Theory 11 are listed as their clients, so giving away free cards is just an ad campaign. Every time someone uses their deck in a card game it's more advertising. And really that's the original intent of USPCC's custom card division.

I would tend to agree. This kind of freebie isn't much more than a small marketing campaign for them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they ever mentioned the word "free" anywhere.

I'll guess that people who are into cards may not get a response or, if they do, will receive a template response. People who are into computer security will (email domain likely playing an important role in their decision on this point).

I'm not going to bother registering "impenetrable-network-shielding.com" and submitting with that to find out, though :)

I got the same email. The address fields weren't required when filling out the form, so I didn't bother. At least it's a response.

I got an email from these guys:

Hi Jed Frayne,

Your FireHost playing cards are on the way to your door. Now it's time for you to show us your poker face. No, we're serious, post pictures of your best poker face to Twitter hashtag #FireHostFaces or Facebook. Who knows, the best faces may get more FireHost schwag.

Oh yeah, in case the cards didn’t give it away, FireHost is the leader in secure cloud hosting. We protect Websites and applications from SQL injections, XSS attacks, directory traversal, CSRF. So, if you or anyone you know has an application or database housing any sensitive or regulated data, leave it to us. You can find more information about our compliant infrastructure here:

http://info.firehost.com/firehost-information.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Now, once you get the cards (or before if you like), post that poker face. It's on.

Best Regards,

The FireHost Team

That really makes me think they're after our personal information, plus a picture of our face to boot. Seems pretty suspicious, doesn't it?
