Hihi. My English terrible, so i will be short.
So-oo many deck reviews out there.. but non that reviews used decks. Always new cards.
I want to see video reviews for all decks from Ellusionist/theory11 etc but i want cards to be old, used for 3-6 months or more. I want to see how they handle when they are very used. Watch that review from 2:25 .. .. I dont have any old Ell Theory11 deck so i though they would handle good even after months but i saw that i was wow..
So if you have old cards why dont you make quick deck review i think would be fun to watch.

Re: Reviews for used cards....
It's an interesting idea, but I don't think it's a valid way of reviewing cards. There's no way of proving or measuring how much the cards have been used or how old they are, not to mention how well they've been treated. I doubt most people are as careful with cards as they should be (if they want them to last, anyway), especially when it comes to pre-handling hand washes. Hell, I bet there's people out there who can ruin a new deck in less than a week with just large amounts of regular use, by simply not caring for them at all.

Re: Reviews for used cards....
A week, hell I ruined a deck of cards in less than an hour while practicing card throwing, but I guess that is a bit on the extreme side of uses for cards. I know my family will easily wear through a new deck in just one night's worth of rummy / poker, enough so that I'd prefer to use a new deck at the next get together. My father & grandfather (and myself I guess) are notorious for bending cards and tweaking corners while playing. We're rather ruthless when playing.MagikFingerz wrote:It's an interesting idea, but I don't think it's a valid way of reviewing cards. So yeah, while a good thought on paper, actually carrying through with reviews of used decks isn't very feasible. Some cards are used in rooms filled with smoke, drink and snacks, others by gloved ladies playing a gentle game of bridge. In other words, the uses of cards are so varied that there's no way to say how a certain deck holds up after any given amount of time.

Re: Reviews for used cards....
Then perhaps what you'd need is a standard test?
An hour riffling/fanning and 10 minutes throwing for example, then examine the effects.
I admit I don't really know what I'm talking about - the most I do is riffle/cascade shuffle at hold 'em games. As such a further test should be to drop the cards into a puddle of beer and nuts.

Well, there's that too; what passes for "regular use" is probably different for many people. You'd have to make different reviews for the different uses - from pure cardistry (only 1 set of hands), to magic (a few more hands shuffling and holding single cards etc), to actually playing with them (many hands both shuffling and holding several cards over time).montecarlojoe wrote:Then perhaps what you'd need is a standard test?
