"Experimental" can get thrown around in a deck design a bit too frequently. But this one definitely fits that label.

This might actually be one of the decks that the rest of my family finds interesting.

Side note...I was testing a concept for my YT channel with a segment featuring my wife giving a 15 second review of each deck after I did. But nearly all of her responses were just some version of "you spent HOW MUCH on this??"

I meant I wish these were part of the patreon rewards as eternal editions rather than being a kickstarter. I rather get these for what I'm already paying on patreon, and not have to back these for an additional cost.

So, why not use two different types of UV ink? One that can be seen on one frequency and another that can only be seen on a second UV frequency? I mean...do I have to think up all the great ideas?

That's hilarious! And pretty much my family's reaction whenever I talk about cards to them.

You guys tell your families what you spend on cards? I’m going to keep it a surprise for the reading of the will.

“And to you, beloved son I bequeath a kings ransom in cards, your weight in gold worth of tools and crafting supplies, a small house to hold them and the remaining scraps of cash”

Gio tends to treat his Patreon subs very differently than everyone else. There are exclusive decks but he also wants to get things out to the masses. I would also think that given the size of his Kickstarters that he must make most of his money there. That being said, when I was a Patreon of his I would have agreed with you. I would have preferred these to be in my sub as opposed to outside.

I’m actually glad they aren’t - not a fan of the UV decks myself, and one thats primarily UV is a pass from me at the moment - can’t say I’d never get one, but it would have to really blow my socks off

seeing how his patreon works, i wouldnt be surprised if we did get an exclusive EE version of this deck.

i can understand what you are saying here but would you apply this to everyone that has a patreon? lotrek, lorenzo, jocu, JR? would you want everyones patreon to have only decks that are available to the public? do you want them to have anything exclusive?

it sounds like maybe you would rather have something like (gaming reference) a season pass. where you pay one fee and get all the releases ''free''. actually doesnt sound like a bad idea.

i do like when i dont have to pledge on campaigns because they are included in the patreon rewards as well but i also like having different decks available than campaign pledges.

This is exactly what I would like - and as things are now, if I'm paying a creator monthly, I at least want the option to buy any decks they may offer

Ye but I get not every deck because of course he has to make decks that are more mass-produced and not limited like Patreon releases are. I was referring to fantasma in particular. I think it's a really neat idea and would be great as an eternal edition. A lot of gio's decks are more mainstream. In my mind his ee decks are more experimental. Different foils, fancy tucks, and in this case invisible inks. Just thought it would have a higher chance of being an ee rather than a Kickstarter.

I would love to watch that! Loved the parts when TGW would let his wife do the reviews as well or better, be part of the skit. The Coffee deck review was the best one yet with her.

Yes, I've long since stopped telling people how much I spend on decks because of that very reaction! But it would be great to see that 15 sec bonus bit!

Gawd, this remark reminds me of EVERYTIME someone asked me how much is it. "10$" is what I keep on saying, but they have saw thousands of decks... so they calculated the total and definitely judged me... welp, Asian perspective hits home.

Oh yes, when my wife asks, I always tell her the USD cost and not in RM. (USD 1 to RM4.5 right now)

Oh yeah, Asian perspective for sure. The sheer look of disbelief I see when they find out I spent that much $ for 1 deck of cards. Also why I stopped showing my collection to non-collecting friends and relatives a long time ago :?

Enjoy sneak peeks of the "literal" ghost deck. I wonder who print these cards. I am scared, if its USPCC, there might be inconsistencies

If it was in the realm of possibility, I would be satisfied with two uncut tuck sleeves from this project and leave it at that.

My worry is that USPCC also printed black market which had issues on the cards with the UV ink. If the same thing happened it would certainly take away from the cards.

I worry about their inconsistencies: like how one deck have a much refined UV artwork and the other is slightly blur washed out. Or if a deck has a lot of bleeds or not, and more importantly: the offset… how to make sure things are centered… if the back is invisible - received finished deck and discover through UV that its totally cut, and their crew simply say: “we are sorry, we can’t see where we cut the cards”

The chances are high. From what I’ve seen USPCC hasn’t fixed their registration issues or the UV ink bleed. For reference I’ve included a photo of the first BM.
