BORING back design. If you ask me it looks like he gave up and said, "I'll throw spades hearts clubs and diamonds back there! Everyone likes those!"

Is it me, or does that QoH look like she's about to backhand someone?
The back design is severely lacking IMO, there's so much that could be done there. Some sort of celtic / tribal design comes to mind immediately, but instead it looks like dragons painted around the suits on aluminum siding.

Yea it looks like she's about to slap the fire out of somebody.
I disagree with everyone. This is the best looking "fantasy" deck than the ones previously released. Courts look great and the back is ok. The only thing that's missing is a Bicycle logo. I think he didn't mentioned who's making the cards.

I agree except about the back being "OK". The artwork is professional and is much stronger than the other stuff that has been coming out.
That back, though, needs an intervention. And it's one thing to have thin borders, but too thin like here and the cut has to be perfectly dead-center or else you end up with a noticeable difference in border widths.
This is not my style of deck, but there is a fair bit to like. For now I have it flagged and may jump in before the end.

This looked doomed, but got a big boost today - might just scrape through.
Hope so - the art is great!

I like the art as well, and i backed this for a single deck. However, isn't the big jump in funding something to be wary of?
None of the big $400 level rewards have been claimed, and yet today saw 9 new backers pledge for a total of almost $1400.
seems fishy, doesn't it?

I would get my money out of this campaign NOW!
I just went through all the pledges, and it only comes to approx 6500... he's at 10127.. that means that there's over $3600 extra.
Some of that would be international shipping.. and some may be add-on... but come one.. 3600?? no way
Something is fishy. Take your money and run

I cancelled the first time I saw his video. Too smug for my trust.

On a past campaign I've seen someone misplace the decimal point in a pledge before and have to retract it later. Accidental pledge of $1500 rather than $15. Maybe... but if that's the case this time it's still doomed anyway.
The Int shipping is bloody high though - nearly doubles the coat at the lower levels - if it accounted for $2.5k I wouldn't be that surprised. (This has had me on the fence for a while too...)
But you're right the high rewards haven't been taken up - the top 9 rewards currently pledged for, with int shipping don't quite cover today's $1400... and I doubt half of them were pledged for today.
Weird. Perhaps caution is best in this case...
Must admit I never watched the video. Rarely do - too often just ridiculous hype.

well darn it... now i've had to go and watch the video too. which i also almost never do.
honestly, didn't seem that bad to me: short and to the point.
still don't know whether i should keep backing this project or not though. i like the art and want to support the artist, and honestly if he or one of his family members threw in $1000 to help get it funded, that wouldn't bother me too much. just no way to know what is really going on there. He's well past his goal now though, with almost 2 days to go, so maybe even a misplaced decimal point wouldn't be the end of things now.

I hope that's the case but it wasn't acknowledged at all. I think I'll wait to see if they come on the aftermarket in a few months.

I know Andy, he's a friend of mine and an artist I've worked with several times over the last few years. He's not smug, just uncomfortable in front of the camera, and one of the more genuine people I know. Nothing sketchy going on here, I backed him and so have several of my friends.
He'll follow through, and I've offered help if needed! Plus, you can't argue that this is going to be an awesome deck!
PS - I'm the creator of the Steampunk Cthulhu deck, for reference sake (

So... what happened to this project? I didn't back it, although I apparently flagged it in Kickstarter to "remind me later." The art wasn't quiiite to my tastes. I *did* end up backing the "Steampunk Pirates" deck by Nat (hapaninja, who posted above as being a friend of Andy Fisher's). Anyway, because I'd saved "War of Kings" on Kickstarter, I just recently got a notice that the project creator has hidden the project from view, never to be seen again.
The project was successfully funded, and I don't recall any hullaballoo at the time about it not being fulfilled. Does anyone here know why Andy decided to remove this project from view on Kickstarter? It looks like he has removed all four of his projects from view, two of which were successful, one which didn't reach it's funding goal, and a fourth that had been cancelled.
I'm just curious; I have no skin in the game. Neither Andy nor Nat have been active in the playing card community, as far as I can tell, for seven or eight years or so. I'm just curious.
