I like the courts on these, but that's all he's done so far. Custom Aces are a stretch goal and there's no mention of the number cards. He's printing these with MPC so I'm guessing they will be stock standard. There's also no mention of the tuck or the card stock.

Mortal Steel: An Artisan Card Deck

Unread post by Caleb M Prochnow »

I just launched a new Kickstarter campaign for a deck of cards called "Mortal Steel" The face cards all contain original cyberpunk characters that I created. I really enjoyed making the artwork for this card deck and I hope that you would consider backing the campaign or sharing it with others.

i really like the art style and vibrant color for this deck. i also love the dual courts. But.... $20 is a bit steep even in todays increased price market. many of the court halves are separated by a line instead of merged together. there is no view of the tuck with only a small mention of ''CUSTOM BOX STRETCH GOAL''. a $20 deck, for me, means full feature tuck (matte stock, embossing, foil) and foil on one side of the card.

still keeping a tab open because i like the art so much and will decide closer to the end.

Hi Adamthinks,
I posted a gif of the number cards on Kickstarter campaign so that backers could see their design. What card stock would you prefer? I have used the (S30) Standard Smooth for my previous non-Kickstarter projects, but those were specifically for company giveaways at conventions and trade-shows. If you have any preferred card stock I would be open to hearing suggestions.
The cards will be in a tuck box. I would prefer to have them in a Custom tux box with Full-Color Print outside, I'm currently reassessing some of my stretch goals to see if I can make that a reality.
I am open to any suggestions/feedback anyone might have about the campaign. I want to make the best deck possible would be enjoyed by all.

M31 (Linen) is the standard for playing cards, they also have their new E27 (Eco Herbage) - both have the option for the MPC game card finish

They also have an M32 Linen Air but that has a min quantity of 1000 decks

I've made the change on the Kickstarter campaign that we will be printing the cards on the M31 Linen. There was a suggestion by a backer to print a black and white deck. Just wondering if there might be interest in that?

Don’t know about the B/W but I think people would like to see the 2 thru 10 cards (pip cards)

The one way back is going to throw some off - might be a few wanting a version with a two way back

The campaign is going well, it has hit one stretch goal and is making progress on the second.
I have added added a unique add-on that is available to backers that I thought might interest some card collectors. I have 25 decks available of both "Mystery Deck #1" and "Mystery Deck #2".. these decks are ONLY available as an add on. As a thank you for backing this campaign I set the cost for these decks at $1, the lowest price that Kickstarter would allow me to input.... Both of these are specialty art decks that I art-directed comprised of a variety of artists. From my understanding this deck is NOT available for sale anywhere in the world. I have included photos of the two decks below.

I agree. I was on the fence about backing but hopped off and backed and was able to add on each of these.

I too concur, wasn't 100% going to back until I saw those gorgeous art decks. I'm so happy to get 1 of each, it reminds me of The Deck by Aiga Wichita.

Count me in as someone who backed the project due to the mystery decks, and now I'm pledged for 4 different decks in this campaign. Thanks for the offering!

I need some advice regarding this project.
I pledged initially for one standard deck and two of each the mystery decks, but finally pledged only for one of each of the mystery decks.
My pledge did not went through, and I can fix it until tomorrow.
But i have some doubts, because I messaged the creator before the end of the campaign and also some backers left some questions in the comments section.
Last login on Kickstarter is on 26th December, before the end of the campaign, which I think is strange for a creator to not login for the end of the campaign.
