Hello, I do not really know where to post this so I thought I'd try the general forum. This post is more of me trying to rant about my experience so mods please let me know if its flouts the guidelines.
So recently I had saw this good deal from a seller and contacted the seller to make a deal, he offered a price + shipping in which I implicitly agreed cause we proceeded to discuss shipping charges. It was 5am in my time and I had to go to bed. 6 hours later I woke up and got blindsided by the seller selling the item to someone else who offered more. I didn't even get a chance to re negotiate. I am pretty sure that I offered first as he/she didn't tell me that there was another party that expressed their interest. I know everyone has their own selling ethics and practices but this really left a bad taste my mouth and I'd like to know if it's a common thing in the playing card markets.
Also I would like to seek some opinions on what kind of guidelines y'all follow by to be fair and partial, like I would normally give people who asked first a 24 hour window to respond should there be others who are asking for the same item. I told my friend this story and he taught me a lesson: Always close a good deal before sleeping.
Thanks for reading! Have a good day ahead.

Re: Selling Ethics
I would have treated you more fairly, others (obviously) might not - in the end your friend was correct. When not dealing with a store or person you know well and can trust, always close a good deal fast.
That being said, always close an internet deal with someone you don’t know with some protected form of payment (paypal goods and services vs friends and family)

Re: Selling Ethics
As a seller, 24h is too long for me to wait but i think it's fair that seller should at least tell the buyer that how much time (or no time) buyer can have before payment and closing the deal.
Again, good deal is good deal and as a buyer i always close em as fast as possible.

I mostly collect Stockholm17 and always looking for any S17 New/Opened decks/ accessories: Brick Boxes, prints, coins, Pins, ect... If you have some weird small thing and want to trade/sell please let me know! If you are also a fan and have free time to chat, feel free to send me a PM!

Re: Selling Ethics
Haha thanks for the inputs, will definitely close good deals fast next time. Also, I put 24 hours on account of time zone differences and sleeping habits (mine is awful) but maybe 24 hours might be a tad too long.
