Can’t get them - unless I build a shed out back to keep them in.

I remember Vanda was going to make a bacon scented deck a while back. They said the prototype was so potent that they had to scrap it. The deck came out anyway with no scent. I wonder how strong these will be?

Now we have decks that not only look like shit but also smell like shit. Hooray for progress.

Yep, looks like the envelope is really being pushed here! I know someone is actually going to make one that smells like $hit eventually if we keep going in this direction.

I am so glad there are people who believe the reason for this deck is like “why?” But what shocks me the most is there are others who would actually buy these. And
that the cards actually met their campaign goal. While other better drawn and design cards did not. I just don’t get it…

I pledged. I just like the novelty of it. I have gilded cards, glow in the dark cards, foiled cards, cards printed with black stock and soon I'll have scented cards!

It's the novelty factor.

Novelty? Like we ignore OPC and the coffee scented decks that are out for ages?

Hey, coffee is one thing, fried chicken is something else. It's food scented and fried chicken's got so many variants here in Asia!

I'll be there for the ramen scented ones.

So is there like a sniff limit i.e. valid for 5000 sniffs, before they lose their scent? I doubt the scent will be there forever right

Not sure if the tech has changed for the scratch and sniff recently, but in the past there was a layer of micro capsules carrying the scent coating the surface. Valid for 5k sniffs is alot for such a small surface. That's impressive, unless they are spreading it out across all 54 cards.

From the kickstarter page:

“Using micro technology, fried chicken fragrant essence oil is trapped inside tiny microcapsules which is then cleverly applied onto the cards as well as the tuck box so when you handle or rub the cards or box, the microcapsules break and releases the delicious fried chicken aroma.”

From around the web:

“The capsules are tiny. A scratch-and-sniff sticker might have fifty million capsules per square inch.”

“At any rate, I know for a fact that scratch and sniff microcapsules can survive for thirty-four years, because I just scratched a garbage can ...”

MPC are taking gimmick decks to the extreme. I actually love some of their UV decks (not their new Quad Florescent which are garish) but smelly cards!
I would have brought them out at Christmas in the hope that people would buy them as a joke present
