i have been liking kingstar decks. could be promising. looking forward to seeing more. the campaign being for a gift set is a bit worrying. just decks please.

i am not a huge handling quality guy. i cannot differentiate all the different printers by paper feel or slip but kingstar seem really good to me. i have 6 of their decks on my desk at work right now.

i am even more interested in really seeing the courts now. i really like the design of the white deck. i am a bit skeptical on what the price will be. it seems kingstar is a bit more on the pricey side to begin with and the prospect of having to buy that giant box puts me off a bit. i really hope there is a decks only option, possibly being able to get just the white deck. outside of that, i hope the price is reasonable even if one has to buy the set.

still, looking forward to seeing the campaign.

Just saw that these are using scented ink ( floral for one and tea for the other). I'd never heard of that before. Does anyone have any experience with cards that have that?

Isn't at least one version of Jocu's Essential scented?

Not sure/don't recall. I know they used lavender for the tucks with crushed plant residue or something.

I saw these listed in China a good while back - so they are selling 200 here but more do exist in the world.

i really like the white deck but i think i have decided to pass on the set. i dont care for the pin, coin or box. the darker deck art doesn't interest me much. i have been back and forth on just getting the set anyway but i dont think i can do that based on principle alone. i doubt that me not buying will make any difference in future choices or campaigns by Kingstar or any other but i just do not want to support campaigns or sales that force one to buy non deck items in order to get the decks. i also do not really want to support having to buy multiple decks to be able to get the one(s) you actually want even though that is definitely a losing battle. unfortunately, there are probably more than enough people out there that will say ''f it'' and buy sets or things that they do not want to get the decks that they do that the loss of sales from people like me will not matter.

edit: in the picture i posted above it clearly shows a Kingstar Box set. i will make exceptions from time to time. in that case the set was priced reasonably for the 2 decks of cards, both of which i liked.
