He also designed Feel The Music, though who knows if we'll ever see that one sadly.

@jerichoholic, producers (not designers) are always responsible for delays. I will be in charge of everything in this project.

I didn't say he was responsible for it, I know he wasn't.

Thanks! Even backers who ordered 2/4/6/12 decks are not forced to order both colors. We will ask about colors in the survey.

Lmao... Montenzi himself made some arguably pro-russian (or however you wanna call it if someone basically claims the West is lying about the Ukraine war) statements in the past in multiple threads. E.g. in a thread when Omar (TGW) wanted to make a version of the Parlour deck in support of the Ukraine or the thread where Ondrej's Ukraine Butterflies were bespoke. So if you take offense in that, then not the designer but the producer himself should be your problem.
That said, like kevork put it so well, to blame someone by guilt of association based on their birthplace or location of living is questionable behaviour at best.

Yes, of course I know. What's the problem?

Y'all are treading on some very dangerous ground here. You cannot reasonably vilify an entire people for the actions of their government.

I have absolutely no idea how to send PMs as a global mod but this obviously needs to stop. Playing cards, people. Keep this to playing cards. I'll talk to the other mods when I get a chance. In the meantime, support this project if you like it and don't support it if you don't. That simple.

I have deleted a fair number of comments here, and left more than enough to relay the flavor of peoples issues. As Vasta said - this has gone as far as it shall in this thread.

Well, I was also about to weigh in, but it has already been done. Let's keep this about playing cards, and definitely not get personal.

(Had to delete another post, thus far no one has been banned)
Let me make things clear - citizens live in countries and are not responsible for the actions of their governments. I live in America and you will not find me denigrating citizens of Russia, Iran, Afghanistan, or anywhere else due to the actions of their governments or other countrymen.
Should the creator or the artist make a statement that reflects upon them badly I will let it stand, as they are free to toss their own careers down the toilet if they wish - but I will not make a determination that they are guilty by association simply by nationality.
There are also other places in this forum to debate issues - the new deck thread is not the place for it.
Should you decide to debate elsewhere here you can expect more leeway - but don’t mistake unitedcardists for twitter.
The “General” section is where such debates belong, and the rules pinned to the top of it labeled “Off Topic” are:
1. Keep it PG-13, this is not a board for porn or dead things.
2. Politics and Religion posts will be monitored closely, keep it civil.

i dont follow any social media or forums over the weekend so i do not know the content of the removed discussions or posts. however, it is always sad to me to see moderation and posts being deleted or moderated. i understand in the end this is an international and private forum and freedom of speech does not technically apply. still sad when it happens. the world is entirely too sensitive these days.

The world may be too sensitive, or not - that discussion can also be taken up in the General section of the forum.
As for moderating - it is required to keep things civil and on topic. As for deleting, we do it exceptionally rarely - and without having read the posts that were deleted there is little reason to think offhand that I did so in this case because I was “entirely too sensitive”.
The deleted “argument” is currently being discussed in the Thunderdome thread - and I am not seeing much activity on it thus far…

I found that UC mods always handled situations very well and are moderating with a quite long leash. Nobody of the regulars in here is too sensitive imho.

Why wouldn't people want to get both colors? Also it's funny that I see people are commenting on the designer being Russian. You know we could say the same things about many Americans right? Not all Russians are bad just because their leader is, same with Americans when their leader was Trump. It's only fair to point out the hypocrisy of some.

i can only speak for myself but the days of buying multiple colors are pretty much over. i buy a deck based on multiple factors but one big one is the court art. if the court art is the same between versions (recolors) i see no reason to buy 2 for just a different color being used on the tuck and card back and pay twice for the same courts. this set has a bit of an incentive as the arrangement of the 2 decks form a rocket on the side. However, i do not display my decks with the side facing out so it will still be a one deck purchase for me.
if the campaign offers them as singles i will generally buy the color i like best. if the campaign only offers a set i am more likely to just pass altogether instead of being forced to buy 2 decks. i appreciate having multiple colors to choose from and also being able to buy only one of them.

I ended up passing - boxes are interesting but the courts just didn’t rate high enough for me to beat the pressure of funds committed to Nazo and Rx - I did get the Vacuum Tube deck during that campaign, was more interesting to me

I'll try to explain. We are planning to print 500-750 decks in each edition. However, MOQ for both Cartamundi and USPCC is 1000 decks. We don't need 2000 decks as we'll have to invest our money into the project or raise prices! That's why we use the same faces and print two back designs to lower the number of decks in each edition. If we print 1000+1000 or just 1000, decks will be 20-30% more expensive for backers. BTW, retail is going to be $16-17
We'll post a new update today. Spoiler: There will be
something for backers who ordered at least four decks, and we'll show you the sketch of our Ticket Off The Earth
Use it to escape this crazy world!
