Just a heads-up that the timing for this theme might not be the best since there have been a lot of Cthulhu decks over the last year.

The tentacles really seem to take away from the art of this deck.

I own two Cthulhu themed decks and would be happy to pick up another but most seem to represent the old gods as a squiggly mess. Shame.

Thank you for your comment, I knew that there have been a lot of Cthulhu decks over the last year, and I love all of it
we prepare this project for more than a year, so what we can do is focus on the moment and do our best
this is the first hand draft last year
We specifically make a difference with other Cthulhu decks, like the 3d design, Puzzle deck design, Book tuck case, and excerpt from the book to make it more Cthulhu and pay tribute to H.P. Lovecraft.

Thank you for your comment, we may try to tune the color of the tentacles to match the design more.

Will there be a version that doesn't have those tentacles on them? I love the color scheme on the unleashed version, but the tentacles on both decks really seem to take away from everything underneath.

I’m with kevork on this one - not for me with the tentacles across the faces in that manner, but I do really like many aspects of the deck and tuck - some nice work there. Congrats on funding

I agree with the above comments. There is a lot to like about the decks but the tentacles ruin it for me. To be honest I did not even realize what they were until I read the above comnents

Hello Kevork, Thank you for your comment.
May I know more about the tentacles part for you, Are you prefer there's a version that takes out those tentacles in the "back & face" or "face only"
coz we value everyone's opinion a lot, and it's good for us to have another version too! but we need more advice in it and love the broken border

Thank you for your comment GandalfPC, as the comment above mentioned, we are thinking about to design a new version without the tentacles across the faces/back/both back and face. Glad you like it !

We are designing a deck without tentacles, may I know what is your thought on the tentacles on the card back? or do you dislike all the tentacles part on the cards?

The tentacles in the back are fine! It's the ones on the front that I'm not a huge fan of.

Since you're thinking of doing another version, I thought I'd throw in a few thoughts.
I think the design for the back is good but the dark monochrome style you've used makes it quite drab and uninteresting (and hard to see).
I agree with others that the tentacle on the faces is too overbearing but I also think the faces/courts in general are quite nondescript and unappealing. Cool courts AND a puzzle motif would be fun but a puzzle INSTEAD of courts defeats the whole point of a deck for me. And while the whole sketchy, roughly drawn aesthetic is obviously a design choice, there are already Cthulhu decks made in a similar vein (several, in fact).
That's not to say there's anything wrong with these choices - Cthulhu themed decks usually sell very well - but as a collector this one is too niche for my tastes in its current form.

We are thinking that we will call it the "Heathen Edition"
Lucky that we can make it in the early stage of the project

New Edition: THE HEATHENS
Hi all, Thank you for all the love and support of this project, we just reached 469% now! As you know, we are doing our best to promote this deck everywhere, whether on social media, Reddit, UnitedCardist...etc.
And we valued every single comment and advice to us. One of the most common comments we received is about the tentacles on the face being a bit too much for them and taking away from the art of court cards, Aces, and pips.
First of all, we take away the tentacles for sure, and then we redraw some of the pictures to make sure it's clear enough for this edition.
Secondly, We need your help and advice on the card back, we can think of 3 designs and need your voice. The background is we think HEATHENS shouldn't be contaminated by Cthulhu, that's why we choose a very light color and a white back, but we haven't decided a final decision yet.
Option 1: The Original back ( keep your sanity)
Option 2: The Left One
Option 3: The Right One
We are still open-minded to this one.
Last but not least, this edition will be an ADD-ON, and a very high chance a limited edition for Kickstarter Only depends on how many people back it and like it. And a very big thanks to our partner The Key Card playing cards company to support us and let us make a new edition at a very fair price, so the price of THE HEATHENS will just be similar to the Keep your Sanity edition.
