Red Monarchs - Oct 31st

Unread post by Wildereachday »

T11 just posted this pic on their Facebook page, so I'm leaning more toward legit.

I have no idea how reliable this is but I looked at the picture under foto forensics and this is what came out, as you can see the "red" is a different color which means its likely photoshopped, the color is based on different compression levels in the picture.

My vote is that its a fake photoshop pic just so that T11 could post a red, white and blue Monarch spread for the 4th of July. Having said that, it really wouldn't surprise me if T11 pumps out yet another color variation of an already existing deck...

Agreed, though making a red Sentinel deck would be atypical. Usually only colored decks get new versions in different colors, while black/white decks are more prone to get inverted or added silver/gold etc.

Whether the image is photoshopped or not is probably irrelevant. Either way, I think a red Monarchs is on the way.

Apparently it is now more than red and there is a reason for that other deck in the picture, apparently there is a limited version coming!

They are also releasing another new edition of Monarchs

I think it says Black Premium along the bottom :?: Well whatever it is, it looks like the 31st October 2013 will be renamed "Night of the Monarchs".

while I understand that it is seen as a lazy money grab, I for one actually like seeing recolors of existing designs. There might not be many that think like me but I wouldn't have a problem with more colors of S&Ms, Monarchs or Crown decks :)

I like recolours too, I quite like having lots of colours. I think that trying to sell a recoloured deck as a limited edition is beyond stupid though (example: Madisons "supposed to be for me only" Crimson decks.

I can't argue with that, I would have loved to buy scarlet rounders/dealers and blue rounders but paying 70+ $ for a different color or having to buy a brick of one color to get one deck of the "rare" color for free is just stupid, I don't want to do that. If the recolors aren't limited though, I'm all for it.

I also don't mind having different colors of the same deck. Especially if it's a color I like. :) But I think one reason so many people on this forum get upset about it is the amount of hype that the companies put out for them, and the hoops you have to go through to get a deck or the insane markup just for a 'special' color. If they are going to add a new color to the lineup, that's fine, but acting like there is some really awesome new deck coming out is just stupid. Especially if they aren't even going the route Uusi did with the BB Redux and at the very least tweaking the back/tuck a bit or switching up the courts, etc. It makes them look really, really lazy or just plain greedy.

I agree with this lot, I like recolored decks, but only if they are in a color that works with the back design. That's why I wasn't a big fan of the new Rounders when I first heard about them.

Oh now I get what they meant when they said "Think inside the box"...

Well I usually don't buy more than 2 of the same decks so this isn't very interesting for me.

Hahahah the 4-deck set set sounds pretty fun, if only they would allow us to choose the type of monarchs deck, i think the box although impractical looks pretty sweet.

I was just thinking a collector monarch set. 4 different monarchs in a giant tuck. They'll probably go with a giant tuck for each color.

That's probably because it's not cheap to produce the Giant Tuck Box.

For all of the custom Brick and 6PK Boxes I've had printed, the lowest I've ever paid was $2.50 per Box. That's the equivalent of a USPCC Deck on it's own, and the low $2.50 was only because we ganged up a press run with some Ornates and TBC Luxury Boxes. Because the print run was small, and we didn't have anything ready for a combo run, the Black Imperial 6PK Boxes ended up to be almost $11.00 per Box!

The Monarch Giant Tuck Box has Gold Foil, and embossing? Even if they printed a few thousand at once, the Foils and embossing could easily keep the per Box cost over $2 - $6. Quality printing doesn't come cheap!

I ordered the Giant Tuck Box + 3 Red Monarches. I'm curious to see how it looks. The idea reminds me of my day job working on Liquor designs. They always want the giant plastic molded version of their bottles for Bar or Store displays. They draw attention!

Thanks, Randy

EDIT: I just double-checked and it has Gold Foil, Embossing, an inside Fill Color AND a large Custom Seal Sticker. All of those perks easily justifies the few extra dollars over the 4 Deck price.

Randy, has the cost put you off doing the custom brick boxes again?

I love the idea of the 4-pack tuck personally, think it will make a great gift and I can understand why it's a little higher in price than 4 individuals.
