From Riffle Shuffle email:
Dear friends,
Mark your calendar for TOMORROW, APRIL 8TH, 2022, at 11AM (EST-New York). You spoke; we listened. Most people thought they would NEVER own a factory-marked deck of Jerry's Nugget playing cards. Sounds impossible, right? Well, you can, and you will.
After a bit of pursuit, negotiation, and innovation, it is an honor to announce that Jerry's Nugget Casino has allowed Conjuring Arts Research Center and Riffle Shuffle to print factory-marked Jerry's Nugget playing cards.
Yup, ok, whatever. Just posting this as a service, not for me.

I'm pretty sure the word 'authentic' doesn't mean what they think it means.

If anything, the monotone color makes it even more dull on an already outdated design. But that just means more variants to sell. Sad that EPCC is following the hype train to sell these, looking from the way they marketed the marked variant in their CARC email list. Still this will be interesting to track and see if they manage to come close to how they did in JN reprint.
Anyone willing to bet just how many variants or stretch goals they will release on this campaign? I'll say a total of 7 decks, with gilded and foiled variants being offered.
THREE NEW EXCLUSIVE colorways: Icy Blue, Atomic Red, Felt Green.
Includes unique "tower" marking systems.
Individually numbered seals.
Certificate of Authenticity.
Printed on a thin-crushed USPCC Premium (Bee) stock for a “modern" feel.
NO REPRINTS - EVER!!!
Available ONLY for the duration of this Kickstarter campaign to preserve exclusivity.

The Kickstarter is really trying to market these as an investment that will be worth more on the secondary market. Not sure the marking system makes them any more desirable. Do people really value marked decks? I find them an unnecessary annoyance.

Yup - when I read their email this morning claiming this was a reasonable investment I lost it - emailed them back with a piece of my mind attached.
From the email: “As a result, it's reasonable to predict an increase in the value of this series immediately following this campaign's conclusion.“
On the good news side, I have a vintage feel Jerry’s gilded in orange - so I guess I’m set for retirement

This reads more colors in campaign...
Back any tier in this campaign and receive an early invitation for all future Jerry's Nugget Montone Series. This special privilege allows you, in the future, to skip the long lines and buy any edition of Jerry's Nugget Monotone Series releases before everyone else.
This includes future Jerry's Nugget Monotone Series online releases like the highly sought-after gilded decks. Online releases allow you to have more time and greater chances to obtain these highly limited decks.
I'll stay with my Chicken Nuggets.

With the huge uptick in deck options & KS campaigns in the last few years, I have switched my personal collecting almost exclusively to marked decks. There are exceptions, but marked decks are really what catch my fancy.
However, I started in magic when I was 8, and my collecting is an offshoot of that. In my experience, many collectors certainly don't seem to mind having a marked deck, but it's often not the biggest hook either.
For die-hard players, I've seen anything from disappointment to rage when a deck is made only in a marked version with no unmarked option.

I will predict a total of 16 decks: both from inside and outside Kickstarter, because why not? This is Riffle Shuffle - they are great at this kind of stunt
“No Reprints” and “Only in Kickstarter”: feels like it is meant to scare you to back it

Inside just this KS, looks like I was too conservative. No surprise with the current trend of gilding that it's the 1st addon/stretch goal.
Foiled should be one of them, with additional colors . I would say additional color 1st since that's the cheapest option with foil being the next. Now that I can see how they're structuring it, I'll revise my number to 12 decks total for just this campaign.

"Marked" means there's a system hidden on the back design that allows you to know what suit or even which exact card it is
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Card_marking
The hype is empty and I don't understand it either

Look up Lee Asher and Jerry's Nuggets and you get the full gospel of the original Jerry's Nuggets. The new Jerry's Nuggets are cashing in on the name, that's about all.

I'm thinking about how much would the reseller gonna price those decks on the secondary market once the campaign is over.

Probably it’s going to be a bit more than the previous reprints
Considering: they might get influenced by the: NO REPRINTS EVER. THESE are the ONLY DECKS MADE, ONLY IN KICKSTARTER
First Gilded
Now Hot Foiled Backs
Whats next?
Might as well I just bailed out. They SHOULD be ashamed for monetizing the history of Jerry Nugget

The hype behind these is the name. The reason the originals were so coveted was for their varnish, which used chemicals no longer allowed. They will never be what they were famous for. The previous attempt at “vintage feel” did not cut the mustard.

Stretch goal 3 this friday: Hotter Foil!
Stretch goal 4 next week: Hottest Foil!!!11
Stretch goal 5 in 2 weeks: Hottest Foil, Gilded
...
Stretch goal 167 (we no longer remember a time before Jerrys stretch goals): Hot Foil backs, gilded with coil foil long edges, gilded with warm foil short edges, every deck comes signed with the blood of the Jerry's Casino founder.

Exactly XD
It's such a shame that the vintage history of the casino is being taken for granted by both Conjuring Arts and Riffle Shuffle

one could easily blame conjuring arts and riffle shuffle for these shenanigans but I think it is more the collectors that buy on hype and buy a million colors of the same shit design are to blame. if there werent people buying every version of this ridiculous deck they wouldn't make it. when i see someone post a group photo of all their nugget decks i just think sucker, laugh out loud and throw up in my mouth a little.

A casino is literally there to make money, nothing else. There is no history about Jerry's Nuggets casino other then it being a penny stock casino that almost went bankrupt. If it weren't for the decks nobody would know of this place except for some Las Vegas locals.
